History: (Avengers I#270) - When Namor was being sued by a group of insurance investors lead by Leslie Farrington for destruction of property, the Avengers hired Mr. Costello as Namor's defense attorney. Mr. Costello told Namor and the Avengers that he could probably win the case, but it would take a major court battle and a lot of publicity and that the Avengers should consider an out-of-court settlement. Namor refused, wanting to face his accusers in court as soon as possible. Mr. Costello told Namor that he could push for an early trial, but that this wasn't going to be an easy case.

(Avengers I#278) - After Namor temporarily left the team, Mr. Costello called Wasp several times asking if she knew where he was, and each time she replied there had been no word from him.

(Avengers I#286) - Finally able to get a hold of Namor on the Avengers hydro-base, Mr. Costello briefed Namor on the developments of his case, unintentionally angering the hot-tempered Atlantean. Mr. Costello begged Namor to listen and insisted that if he didn't address the lawsuit he would bring the Avengers' reputation down. Namor got angry again since he was once the king of a nation and had been reduced to small legal trifles. Namor walked off. Mr. Costello asked him to come back, stating he needed Namor's signature on a lot of documents and such, but Namor wouldn't hear it. Mr. Costello asked Marrina to go after Namor and calm him down.

After Marrina died, Namor left the team, and to the best of my (limited) knowledge, his legal issues weren't really brought up afterward.

His first name was revealed in the Avengers' OHotMU A-Z HC#1 entry.
