Powers/Abilities: As a living man, Daredevil was an expert acrobat and martial artist, with superhumanly acute senses that include the "radar sense" echolocation ability.
As one of the undead, Daredevil's
body is in a constant state of decay. His body stopped all metabolism
and is no longer responsive to traditional pain stimuli; he is able to
function even with large chunks of his body missing.
He is consumed by an overwhelming desire for living flesh that cannot be sated.

History: (Marvel Zombies: Red Band#1 (fb) - BTS) - Matt Murdock was a blind lawyer who secretly was the superhero Daredevil. He worked in a law firm with his best friend, Foggy Nelson, and their secretary, Karen Page. Both men hoped to pursue a romantic relationship with Karen.
(Marvel Zombies: Red Band#1) - On a day when four astronauts returned from an authorized spaceflight, Foggy and Matt were walking the streets of New York after work and were interrupted by the sound of sirens. Matt left Foggy's side, changed into his Daredevil costume, and ran towards the danger. The four astronauts had returned not only with superpowers but also with an insatiable hunger for flesh and had already converted a large crowd into their zombie minions when Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk arrived on the scene. Daredevil joined them and warned that because of his super-hearing he could tell that the four no longer had heartbeats. A gruesome fight ensued, in which zombie Susan Storm managed to kill Thor with her force field, while Hulk tore zombie Reed Richards to shreds, though it did not kill him. Both sides decided to retreat, and Daredevil admitted that he felt completely out of his depth. Iron Man took charge, strengthening the need for the remaining heroes to work together in order to stand a chance.
(Marvel Zombies: Red Band#2 (fb) - BTS) - The zombies spread across the world, leaving only few scattered survivors. Daredevil joined the Avengers, who tried to combat the zombies to the best of their ability.
(Marvel Zombies: Red Band#2) - Like many other heroes and villains, both human and zombie, Daredevil was taken by the Beyonder and transported onto the Battleworld. A voice announced that those who slay their enemies would have their desires granted. The heroes were outnumbered by the zombies, but Captain America gave a rousing speech, stressing that their only way to return home and help the survivors left behind was to win the Beyonder's game. The living and the undead battled each other for weeks that stretched into months. Eventually, Daredevil was turned, restrained by zombie Hawkeye's trick arrow just long enough to get bitten by zombie Montana. Later, zombie Daredevil himself turned Jean Grey and bragged about it to the rest of the zombies.
(Marvel Zombies: Red Band#3) - Jean not only turned into a zombie but became merged with the Phoenix Force. Daredevil and other zombies watched at how zombie Jean Grey went straight for the Beyonder and consumed him. With Beyonder no longer keeping them constrained to the Battleworld, the remaining zombies departed in a spacecraft constructed by zombie Reed Richards.
There was no food on their journey, and zombie Daredevil ate both of his eyeballs, which even the other zombies found disgusting. Zombie Reed Richards found a planet with life, where the zombies crashed and devoured the Grandmaster. When Thanos showed up with Silver Surfer, seeking Grandmaster's Reality Gem to complete the Infinity Gauntlet, the zombies attacked them as well.
(Marvel Zombies: Red Band#4 (fb) - BTS) - The zombies disagreed on whether to use the Infinity Gauntlet to serve their dark god Knull or themselves. A Zombie Civil War broke out, which Daredevil apparently did not survive.
Comments: Created by Ethan S. Parker, Griffin Sheridan, and Jan Bazaldua.Each issue of Marvel Zombies: Red Band takes place after a timeskip of months to years. Daredevil does not appear in issues #4 or #5 and had presumably been either fully destroyed or otherwise incapacitated in the aftermath of issue #3, which led into the Zombie Civil War.
This profile was completed 08/21/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25th anniversary 's celebratory event to represent Daredevil's 2020s' stories and characters.
