History:
(The Transformers: Decepticon Hijack Big Looker storybook) - Abe Walters was a truck driver working with his friend Barry.

Abe and Barry were transporting oil through Oregon and attracted the attention of robotic Decepticons, who wanted to steal the oil from the truck to refuel themselves for an upcoming battle with the Autobots. At a lonely spot on Route 4, the truck suffered a flat tire and while Abe and Barry were fixing it, the Decepticon Blitzwing used an electron scimitar to short-circuit the truck's wiring, causing a malfunction that puzzled both men, who failed to notice the Deceptions despite Blitzwing, a giant robot, standing nearby. Megatron, Long Haul, Bombshell and Ravage soon arrived but Abe and Barry similarly didn't notice them either. The Autobots were watching, their primary goal being to lure the humans away from the Decepticons. Sunstreaker fired high-energy electron pulses from his gun at the truck, thereby boosting the needed circuitry. Abe was surprised that the truck had suddenly returned to normal and he and Barry climbed inside and continued on their way.

Megatron followed the truck and grabbed it from behind. The Decepticons seized it but Swoop stopped them, dropping an air-to-air missile launcher with the power of 5,000 pounds of TNT. The Decepticons were defeated and Abe Walters and Barry were knocked unconscious. The Autobots found the truckers and pulled them out just as Starscream dropped his cluster bombs on the truck. After the Decepticons left empty-handed, the Autobots took Abe and Barry to their camp, where Optimus Prime explained what had happened. Afterward, Bumblebee drove them to the nearest city.

Abe Walters' name is presumably short for Abraham.

His height, weight, and eye color were impossible to determine/approximate. His hair appears to be black.

Decepticon Hijack is the third storybook in the Transformers Big Looker Storybooks line published by Marvel Books in the 1980s. They existed in their own continuity, independent of comics and animated series, and, being aimed at young children, told simple stories. This explains many of the silly and illogical moments these books were full of. For example, if we consider the Decepticon Hijack book, how did Abe and Barry not notice the five giant robots standing nearby? Why did Swoop use air-to-air missiles against enemies who were on the ground?

Some online sources list the Transformers: Decepticon Hijack book as releasing in January of 1985 but the book's copyright only says "1985," There is no indication that what month it released in that year. --Proto-Man
