History: (Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood#1/3 (fb) - BTS) - Mary Jane van Helsing wanted to become an actress but never got to pursue it. After her parents were taken by vampires, Mary Jane became a professional vampire hunter. She traveled from one small town to another, paying attention to the locals and fighting to avenge their lost loved ones. MJVH became renowned in her craft but eventually grew bored of it and wanted to start a family. She lost any sense of excitement and started treating the killing of the undead as just another job that paid.
(Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood#1/3) - In the year 198X, Mary Jane was hired by yet another small town to take out their local vampire Count Parker. She skipped most of the details while taking the job but then sensed a strange tingle of excitement that she had almost forgotten. While approaching the Count's mansion, Mary Jane was attacked by his familiars and effortlessly knocked them out. She entered the mansion, expecting traps but instead came across a laboratory with vats of human-animal hybrids. One Rhino broke out and attacked her, and MJVH stabbed it with several stakes before coming across Count Parker himself.
They fought, and Mary Jane gained the upper hand, but just as she was about to stake his heart, she experienced a vision of herself and Parker being together in dozens of different universes. This distracted van Helsing enough for Parker to bite her and turn her into a vampire herself. After a brief bout of pain, she fully embraced her new life of pleasure and indulgence as Count Parker's bride. The townsfolk came after them with pitchforks and torches, and Mary Jane and her new family faced them with pure delight.
(Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood#1/1) - The Web-Heart - the personification of the Web of Life and Destiny - considered selecting either Count Parker or Mary Jane as its champions in the upcoming contest against the Symbiote Hive-Mind but decided against it.
