History:
(Tex Morgan I#8 (fb) - BTS) - Carl was a European scientist who experimented with raising dead men to life, calling these reanimated figures "the Living Dead." After succeeding in his experiments he went insane. Carl followed his brother Chaney Foster to Rimrock Valley in the United States. To provide cover for his continued experiments he posed as a simple handyman as "Carl Tuesday" on the Stover family ranch in Rimrock Valley. The family gave him a small shack to live in but Carl tunneled beneath the shack to build a laboratory underground where he could raise the Living Dead. Tuesday sent his Living Dead after ranchers such as Jake Kilbourne, killing him. Jake's son narrowly survived the encounter and told others about the Living Dead.
(Tex Morgan I#8) - Carl continued to pose as a handyman while his Living Dead killed more locals, including Mrs. Stover and Doc Kirby. Before her death, Mrs. Stover had written a letter to Tex Morgan, who arrived with his Native ally Lobo to investigate the Living Dead. Neighboring rancher Stan Hammond investigated Carl's shack and discovered the underground laboratory. The Living Dead nearly killed Stan but Tex and Lobo rescued him and escaped the laboratory.
As Carl was obessed with Molly Stover, Chaney tried to spirit her away from Carl but Stan mistook Chaney for an abductor and shot him. In the underground laboratory, Chaney identified his brother as the one behind the Living Dead before dying. Carl entered the laboratory with his Living Dead and took Molly as his prisoner while the Living Dead assaulted Stan, Tex and Lobo. Carl declared he would burn down the Stover ranch and upon its ashes raise up a new ranch house where he and Molly would rule as king and queen.
Carl gloated over the Stover ranch as it burned down, simultaneously destroying all of his Living Dead in the laboratory below. When Stan, Tex and Lobo emerged from the laboratory he held a gun on Molly, threatening to shoot her. However, Tex's horse Lightning attacked Carl from behind, picking up Carl by grabbing his shirt in its teeth. Lightning flung Carl into the burning ranch house and the fire consumed him, even as his Living Dead were destroyed.

When Tex Morgan and Lobo came to Rimrock in response to a letter from Mrs. Stover, Chaney told them about the recent attacks by the Living Dead but didn't reveal Carl was the perpetrator. Fearing for Molly Stover's life, Chaney tried to save her from Carl but Stan Hammond mistook Chaney for an enemy and shot him. Dying, Chaney told Stan, Tex Morgan and Lobo that Carl was the one behind the Living Dead and told them his brother had to be destroyed.
