Powers/Abilities: Temax had superhuman strength sufficient to easily knock the Hulk aside and his durability was also at superhuman levels sufficient to withstand a punch from the Hulk with no damage whatsoever.
Due to the inherent earth-spirit
nature of gnomes, the natural elemental forces that comprised Temax
were quintupled, causing mystic spells and even blasts from the Power
Cosmic to simply evaporate on contact with Temax.

History:
(Defenders I#11 (fb) - BTS) - The gnome Temax became a guard of the
Mohammedans during the Crusades.
(Defenders I#11) - Summoned by
Chandu to combat the
time-displaced Defenders, Temax proved immune to the magic of Dr.
Strange and the Power Cosmic of the Silver Surfer. The Hulk attempted
to fight Temax one-on-one but Temax easily withstood a punch from the
Hulk and responded by swatting the green goliath aside. Temax then
moved to utilize a giant boulder as a weapon but Dr. Strange teleported
the Defenders from the scene, confusing both Chandu and Temax. After
opting to oppose Mordred
the
Evil alongside the equally time-displaced
Black Knight, the Defenders infiltrated a Mohammedan fortress, only to
be discovered by Temax and his gnome allies. In the ensuing battle,
Temax knocked Hawkeye unconsciousness and he and his fellow gnomes
captured four of the Defenders. Ultimately, Temax and his fellow gnomes
were destroyed by the Sub-Mariner when he doused them with water due to
the opposition of elements between water and the earth-based nature of
the gnomes.
