Powers/Abilities: Stripey has no superhuman powers.

    He likes to comment and report on society, and he cares much more for the story than helping anyone who might be a victim of what he is reporting.

    He also apparently smokes cigarettes, which would give him a characteristic odor, limit his endurance and cause other health problems.

History:
(A-1 II#3/3 (fb) - BTS) - Stripey hired Urko as camera man.

(A-1 II#3/3) - As Urko filmed, Stripey commented on how humanity had climbed to a height and no longer remembered the purpose of the journey, specifically commenting on a place called the Maul as a palace of dreams for their nonsense. He further noted there to be a lot of muggings in the Maul.stripey-a1-face.jpg

    He made his catchphrase, "I am Stripey. I am a camera. And you are my witness." This confused Urko, who was running the camera, but Stripey explained to him.

    After Stripey announced that they would be on the trail of "The Fashion Victim," he filmed a trio of youths, Flares, Tie-Die and Taj(?) as they purchased extreme and allegedly stylistic clothing from the Boo-Tik and then wandered the streets, despite the clothing store vendor warning that it was not safe.

    Soon enough, the muggers Claws and Slasher -- appalled at the youths' garish garb -- had nabbed Flares, who had been lagging behind due to his massive platform shoes. As Slasher held Flares, Stripey interviewed Claws about the mugging, which culminated in Claws attaching some rocket-like fireworks to Flares' flared pant-legs and then lighting them, launching Flares into the sky.

    Claws and Slasher soon after grabbed Tie-Die and shoved his scarf/tie into his mouth, after which Stripey asked Tie-Die for a few words for the viewers, ultimately concluding him to be speechless with excitement.

    After Claws and Slasher confronted the third youth (Taj?) and offered to free him of his new shoes by cutting off his feet with a chain saw, the youth happily surrendered his shoes.

    When Stripey, pleased with the footage, noted that they could not get such film even if they had paid for stand-in muggers.

    Hearing this, Claws and Slasher demanded payment for their role, and when Stripey told them he did not have any money, they prepared to take his camera.

    Not wanting to get bruised for some modeling gig, the large and powerfully built Urko refused to stand up on Stripey's behalf, but then Flares came flying back down and crashed into Claws and Slasher, flattening them.

    Stripey concluded his feature, noting this to be the exotic adventure world of the Maul, and telling his viewers to "Tune in, Turn on and Drop off!"

    I don't think there is anything in the story that would rule this out of being Reality-616.
    I don't think he could be British and 616. Everyone around him seems leonine, some non-human species. As such I think he's either extraterrestrial (in which case his homeworld could be an alien world somewhere in the 616 universe) or if he's meant to be on Earth then we're looking at alternate reality where either another species evolved instead of mankind, or aliens have settled. - Loki
