History:

(Mystic Comics I#3/2) - Around 1920, scientist Vincent David decided to cut himself off from human civilization to raise his son Varen, bringing him to Snow Island. For 20 years, Varen lived on Snow Island with his father as Dr. David taught him everything he knew. Eventually, Dr. David passed away, leaving Varen alone on the island.

    Ships passing Snow Island caught sight of Varen and reported him to the outside world. This led the circus promoters Garton and Millock to visit Snow Island to see him for themselves. Impressed by Varen's immense size, Garton and Millock laid a trap for him, snared him and forced him into their hold of their ship, entreating Varen to join their circus as the performer Hercules.
