History:

(Marvel Knights I#11 (fb) - BTS) - Viktor Smerdilovisc was a Serbian member of Black Maria, a death squad. He murdered and tortured many people in Serbia and became a notorious wanted criminal. He eventually fled to the United States and became a mobster in Manhattan.

(Marvel Knights I#11) - When Viktor's mob threatened businesses in Manhattan for protection money, the business owners hired Luke Cage to defend them. Luke attacked Viktor's men and smashed Viktor's car, then told them to go back to New Jersey.

    Viktor and his men went to Tombstone's Club Cosco and immediately hired their own superhuman protection, bringing in the criminals Bengal, Bullet, Big Ben Donovan, Shades and Tombstone to defend them. When Cage came after them at the Club Cosco alongside the Black Widow, Dagger, Daredevil, Shang-Chi and Moon Knight but were surprised to find themselves facing Viktor's own hired guns.

(Marvel Knights I#12) - Tombstone expressed irritation at Viktor that his operations has brought in so many costumed heroes but Viktor remained confident that Tombstone and his allies would prevent his being captured. As the fight raged on, Viktor, Tombstone and other mobsters attacked Dagger but she suddenly tapped into Cloak's darkforce powers and teleported all of them into the Darkforce Dimension.
