History:
(Marvel Voices: Spider-Verse#1/4) - The Sinister Six-Piece were a rock band composed of superhumans on Earth-138. However their instruments hid sound-induced mind-control devices that activated when they were performing, and which they used to rob their audiences.

One such robbery was planned by the group for the Daily Bugle's Battle of the Bands competition. Sinister Six-Piece came on after the band Man-Wolf (with lead singer Johnny Jameson) and within seconds had almost the entire crowd enthralled. However, one audience member, Riotheart, a member of the Spider-Band that was scheduled to perform later that night, was protected from the hypnotic tones by her high-tech armor, and hastily gave her band-mate Spider-Punk an ear piece that freed him from his mesmeric state. While Riotheart was distributing more ear pieces to the rest of the Spider-Band, Spider-Punk leapt onto the stage and challenged the Sinister Six-Piece directly, angrily denouncing mind control as "not punk!" As he began to trash their equipment the Six-Piece members mobbed him, and despite his efforts to fight back he was swiftly overwhelmed by their numbers and captured in Dock Ock's metal tentacles. Beetle taunted him by stating that he was the only one complaining, but Spider-Punk pointed out that he wasn't a solo act just as the rest of the Spider-Band joined the fray. The Sinister Six-Piece were soon overpowered by the rival bards, and Spider-Punk trussed them up in his webbing by the side of the stage while the Spider-Band began their performance to the appreciative, and no longer entranced, audience.

(Spider-Punk: Arms Race#3 - BTS) - When the Spider-Band was confronted by hostile Dok Ock during a mission some time later, Spider-Punk accused him of still being mad about losing the Battle of the Bands.

Not named in Marvel Voices, the Earth-138 Doctor Octopus counterpart is confirmed to go by Dok Ock in Spider-Punk: Arms Race#1; he's identified as Otto Octavius in #1 of that miniseries, but in subsequent issues he's Otto Oktavius. Normally first spelling would be considered correct, but given it's three for K and only one for C, in this instance Oktavius wins.

None of the other Sinister Six-Piece members are named in Marvel Voices, so we don't know for sure their codenames nor real identities. Based on the percentages of matching to non-matching among other Earth-138 characters, there is a reasonable chance most the Six-Piece members share their 616 counterparts' real identities, but by the same precedents the codenames have at best a 50/50 chance of being the same. However, just for ease of reference, until we get told otherwise, I'm ASSuming any names we don't yet know are identical to the 616 versions.

Because Dok Ock has a number of appearances away from the band he needs a full profile, and so isn't included in the team member sub-profiles below.

This profile was completed on 08/03/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25^th anniversary's celebratory event to represent Spider-Punk.

Beetle

The Beetle was the lead guitarist and vocalist for the Sinister Six-Piece. Like her 616 counterpart she wore a suit of powered armor.

Comments: As noted above, we don't know for sure that this Earth-138 version has the exact same codename as her 616 counterpart. Given her musical bent, perhaps she's the Beatle rather than the Beetle? Although perhaps not - while musical, that wouldn't be very punk.
