Powers/Abilities: Sandra Shore is an amateur scientist, quick thinker and shows remarkable aptitude in understanding new technology. She is brave and tenacious. Her custom Earth Corps environmental suit is near bulletproof and is equipped with advanced radar equipment. Her environmental suit appears to filter out toxins and protect against harsh temperatures.

History:

(The Inhumanoids#1 (fb) - BTS) - Philanthropist Sandra Shore was the main benefactor to the Shore Museum in San Francisco, USA. She supported archaeological finds and took on a recently unearthed giant piece of amber containing a monstrous skeleton, thinking it was a dinosaur, but it was actually the imprisoned millennia-old malevolent Inhumanoid D'Compose.

(The Inhumanoids#1) - At a grand ceremony, Sandra introduced Earth Corps (Dr. Herman "Herc" Armstrong, Dr. Edward Augutter, Dr. Derek Bright, Dr. Johnathon Slattery) and unveiled the giant piece of amber, but D'Compose broke his head free and called out to fellow Inhumanoid Tendril (who had recently broken free elsewhere). Tendril attacked the Museum and freed D'Compose, causing great destruction. Sandra and Earth Corps remained while others fled. Slattery donned his Liquidator armor and helped protect Sandra amid the rubble. But the deadly D'Compose menacingly reached out to both of them.

(The Inhumanoids#2) - The other Earth Corps members rescued them in a helicopter and escaped while the Inhumanoids were distracted by an attacking police helicopter.

(The Inhumanoids#3) - Sandra went to the Shore Foundation office and confronted her brother Blackthorne when she overheard him pressuring a senator that Earth Corps be shut down. Discovering he was behind the Inhumanoid's release, she left distraught and angry at her brother. Blackthorne sent his thugs after her, but she escaped and later drove to the damaged Earth Corps HQ. Sandra offered to fund Earth Corps' next expedition only if she could join them. Earth Corps soon had additional equipment ready plus a new environmental suit for Sandra, and went underground searching for the Inhumanoids. Sandra used the Trappeur, a highly maneuverable hover platform. They came across and fought D'Compose first, who set vicious Deathbats upon them; they were soon overwhelmed with Auger about to destroyed by one of the beasts.

(The Inhumanoids#4) - Sandra saved Auger by blasting apart the Deathbat using a gun. Other Deathbats charged at Sandra, but she quickly maneuvered the Trappeur away, causing the creatures to crash into each other. The other Earth Corps members admired her tenacity and skill. Victorious, Earth Corps progressed further underground. Sandra detected a big battle between the heroic Granites against the vile D'Compose and Tendril. Amid the chaos, the most powerful Inhumanoid Metlar was released. Sandra and two others escaped being devoured by Metlar. Earth Corps and the Granites fled at the Inhumanoids' assault; Sandra used her suit's radar to find a tunnel and follow the Granites. Earth Corps watched as a black-armored man stopped the Inhumanoids and Sandra's suit revealed it was Blackthorne. Sandra confronted her brother, but this distraction gave D'Compose time to grab her, rip her helmet off and at his touch, transform her into a zombie-like minion. Blackthorne and Earth Corps were aghast at her malformation.

Unfortunately, The Inhumanoids comic series, published under Marvel's Star Comics imprint (despite stating "to be continued!"), ended there without resolution. However, the comics are (mostly) an adaptation of the opening 5-part storyline in the animated series "The Evil That Lies Within" by Flint Dille (original screenplay), wherein Sandra Shore was restored to her normal self and the Inhumanoids are neutralized. I'd hazard a guess that the expected fifth issue has unfinished (and unpublished) artwork out there.

Sandra Shore receives the codename "Ms. Navigator" in the TV series.

The original 1986 Inhumanoids cartoon had a wide array of characters (see the Wikipedia page), some not included in the comic, and included Hasbro action figures (but not Sandra Shore).

Am I the only one who sees "sandy shore"?
