Powers/Abilities: The Samurai Cat is an excellent swordfighter who usually wields a katana. His Bushido Buzz Saw Blade attack can destroy an opponent's blade. He also carries throwing stars. He is also an accomplished archer.

History:
(Samurai Cat I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Miaowara Tomokato once bested Tasha Yura in battle.
(Samurai Cat I#1) - Miaowara Tomokato oversaw a great victory over Takeda Katsuyori's forces. When Takeda tried to flee, Miaowara fired an arrow at him, killing him. With the great battle won, Miaowara asked his master Nobunaga for permission to visit his brother Shimura. Miaowara's nephew Shiro disliked him and even tried to kill him, but Miaowara easily bested his attempts. Miaowara told Shiro he had the courage to be a samurai one day.
Returning to Azuchi Castle, Miaowara found it aflame. Entering the castle, he found everyone dead and insulting grafitti left on the walls. Among the dead were four ninja turtles, "mere shells of their former selves." Nobunaga's severed head gave Miaowara a top ten list of the people most responsible for the deaths, including Fugu Otoko in Catzad-Dum. After this lengthy oration, Nobunaga's head finally died.
Heading to Catzad-Dum, Miaowara sought out Fugu Otoko, on the way battling a "Mickey Mouse Monstrosity" that lurked in a pool. Entering Catzad-Dum, he saw a party led by a wizard and a halfling. The wizard told the halfling to ignore Miaowara because he was "another one of those D and D toesuckers." Miaowara fought an army of Porks and fought his way to Fugu Otoko's throneroom, but Otoko summoned a B'aalhop, a fearsome demon who wanted a tip. Miaowara slew the B'aalhop and when Otoko tried to kill him by shooting at him, Miaowara deflected the bullet with his sword, ricocheting into Otoko's head, killing him.
(Samurai Cat I#2) - Taking advantage of a special half-price samurai fare, Miaowara sailed to Nabonidea to find the wizard Thpageti-Thoth, but the wizard wasn't there. Miaowara continued to pursue him to Fort Ticonderoga and went to the Slut and Brew tavern. When five barbarians mocked him for drinking milk, Miaowara killed the barbians with a single flash of his blade. This impressed Captain Almuric, who asked Miaowara to work for him. When Miaowara explained he was after Thpageti-Thoth, Almuric said he wanted the wizard dead as well.
Captain Almuric introduced Miaowara to Con-Ed the Barbarian, who also had a vendetta against Thpageti-Thoth and denounced Miaowara for trying to claim his vengeance. Almuric's other soldiers were Almaric, Amlaric, Amluric, Amralic, Al Murik, Al-Muriq. They journeyed to the Black Walnut on the border between Canada and Pictland. In Pictland they were attacked by Porka Picts; only Miaowara and Con-Ed survived. Within a Pict fort, Miaowara found Thpageti-Thoth had transferred his soul into the demonic Thwack creature. Miaowara started a fire as a distraction so he could kill Thpageti-Thoth's mortal body but Con-Ed knocked him out and killed Thpageti-Thoth himself. The Thwack nearly killed Con-Ed but Miaowara slew the creature.
(Samurai Cat I#3) - Still intent on completing his vengeance, Miaowara sought out Darth Shatner and Grand Moff Cuomo, taking a flight on Luftwaffethansa Intergalactic Airlines to the planet Tattooween in the galaxy where the two men were reputed to hang their hats. Discovering Wisconsin Solo, Dobi-Wan Gillis and Keye Luke were also after Darth Shatner and headed to his space station, the Deaf Star, Miaowara asked to accompany them on their ship the Titanium Penguin.
Entering the Deaf Star, Miaowara helped his allies fight their way through Darth Shatner's forces. Miaowara attacked Darth Shatner, but his laser-saber sliced Miaowara's swords into pieces. Dobi-Wan Gillis sacrificed his life and Miaowara took his laser-saber to fight Darth Shatner. When he was bested, Shatner claimed he was Miaowara's father's second cousin twice removed by marriage on his sister's side, hoping this would confuse Miaowara. Outraged by his lies, Miaowara killed Darth Shatner while his nephew Shiro appeared from out of nowhere and destroyed the Deaf Star, killing Grand Moff Cuomo. Shiro asked his uncle if he could have top billing in his next adventure but Miaowara cautioned him he still had much to learn.

These stories were adapted from the short story collection 'The Adventures of Samurai Cat' (1984) by Mark E. Rogers and published in the Epic Comics imprint. Rogers also wrote about the character in 'More Adventures of Samurai Cat' (1986), 'Samurai Cat in the Real World' (1989), 'The Sword of Samurai Cat' (1991), 'Samurai Cat Goes to the Movies' (1994), and 'Samurai Cat Goes to Hell' (1998). Note that Samurai Cat (and his family) is a humanoid cat in a world of humans; no one ever acknowledges how unusual this is.
Any resemblance to Miyamoto Usagi is... probably intentional, Cirocco seemed to be deliberately channeling Stan Sakai's art style.
