History:
Lynn had been like best friends with Anya for like forever.
(Araña: The Heart of the Spider#3 (fb) - BTS) - In eighth grade they went together to a school dance because no boys wanted to dance with them.
(Amazing Fantasy II#1) - Lynn was a high school freshman waiting outside Milton Summers High School for her best friend Anya Corazón. It was their first day in school and she thought Anya was late. When another friend of hers told her that he had already seen Anya inside at her locker, Lynn rushed inside and pushed aside another student, who bumped against school bully Trent's locker and ripped a poster. Trent blamed Lynn and grabbed her by the arm, but Anya stepped in to defend Lynn and even demanded that Trent apologized to Lynn for hurting her arm. The bully pushed Anya into the lockers, but she wasn't scared and ready to fight. Lynn warned her that Trent was "twice" Anya's size, but Anya still punched him. The fight was broken up by the principal, but Anya still challenged Trent to a fight at the bridge in Greene Park. Lynn picked up Anya's locket, whose chain broke when Anya got pushed into the locker, and handed it to her. The principal wanted to see Anya in his office and Lynn wanted to known why Anya always lost her cool and this time on their first day in school.
(Amazing Fantasy II#2 (fb) - BTS) - Anya promised to call Lynn after the fight and Lynn got scared for Anya's life when she didn't.
(Amazing Fantasy II#2) - The next day in school Lynn confronted Anya about not calling her and told her that she was so worried that she stayed up late and almost went to the park to find her. Lynn then noticed that Anya's locket, which she never took off, was gone. Lynn wanted answers, but never got them because they were interrupted by Trent bragging about seeing terrorists at the park the night before. Lynn and Anya listened for a bit until Anya called him a liar. Before things could turn ugly again, the principal sent them all to class. In class Anya suggested to Lynn to get their old friend group back together because they were so lost without their information network in this school. Lynn was put in charge of getting everyone to meet up because she wanted Trent to go down as well. She was aware that they had lost most of their gang when they graduated junior high and asked who she should get ahold of and Anya suggested to just start with anyone.
Later Lynn managed the training of the school's gymnastics team, which included Anya, whose attention she pointed towards her crush Paul Townsend. Both girls were actually infatuated with Paul and Lynn suggested to not just get their old gang back together, but also ask Paul even though she wasn't even sure he remembered them from junior high. Lynn then ripped off Anya's sweatpants because they had to start training at some point. Lynn made sure that everyone in the team did their training and even had some encouraging words for Anya after she took a bump off the uneven bars. Lynn was surprised that Anya wanted to try again after taking a second bump.
After training they walked home and Anya suggested to Lynn to get together with their friends at the Accela club down under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass (DUMBO). Both decided to make some calls and then went their separate ways.
(Amazing Fantasy II#3) - The next night Anya met with Lynn at the Accela. Lynn was waiting for the new underground set playing that night, but also had bad news for Anya because nobody she called had showed up. Lynn saw Paul Townsend and Lynn suggested to Anya to call him over. Anya took a shot at it, but Paul had to leave and so did Anya after a call from WebCorps.
(Amazing Fantasy II#4) - The next day in school Lynn was blindsided by a pop quiz on the history of Argentina, which she had not studied for.
(Amazing Fantasy II#6) - Lynn and Anya went shopping at the mall. Miguel Legar of WebCorps interrupted their shopping spree and Lynn seemed a bit disappointed when Anya had to leave for work.
(Araña: The Heart of the Spider#2 (fb) - BTS) - Lynn hung out with Anya even though the latter had a cold.
(Araña: The Heart of the Spider#1 - BTS) - Some time later Lynn left three messages on the Corazón's answering machine for Anya. Anya's dad told her as soon as she got home from work.
(Araña: The Heart of the Spider#2) - Anya and Lynn were heading to school and Lynn was once again not prepared for a pop quiz by Mrs. Wegmann. She was more interested in what Anya was up to the night before. Anya was glad that Lynn was always there for her even though she didn't help her cheat or give her advice on her non-existent love life. Lynn seemed pretty clueless during the pop quiz and so did Anya.
Later at the lockers Anya lamented that she needed more time to study and Lynn suggested to her to just quit her internship at WebCorps, but that was not an option for Anya. Lynn sneezed and blamed Anya for getting sick because she had hung out with her while Anya had a cold the week before. Anya tried to argue, but Lynn threatened to not give Anya an authentic junior picture of Paul Townsend if she didn't stop arguing. This ended the argument and Anya guessed that Lynn got her hands on the picture because she was part of the High School Yearbook Committee. Lynn gave it a maybe and then put the picture inside their locker (Anya and Lynn had locker together?). Lynn told Anya that if someone noticed she would just tell the person that Anya liked Paul. Lynn threatened to never speak with Anya again if she took down the picture and Anya just gave in even though she didn't like that Lynn forced this on her. The day got worse when Mrs. Wegmann introduced Jon Kasiya as a new transfer student to the class. Anya recognized him as Amun, an assassin working for the Sisterhood of the Wasps, but Lynn immediately crushed on him and was kind of disappointed that he would sit next to Anya and not next to her. Lynn wrote a note for Jon with hearts over the each "i" that offered her help in case Jon needed anything. She handed it to him and then gave him a big, dorky smile.
(Araña: The Heart of the Spider#3) - Lynn dropped her pencil in class to get Jon's attention and he picked it up with a frown on his face. On his way up he recognized Anya's tattoo as the Mark of the Spider. Lynn didn't like it when Jon seemed to smile at Anya.
After school Lynn wanted to get a tattoo like Anya. She had not decided yet if she would get a scorpion, hornet or maybe a leech. Anya tried to stop her from getting a tattoo because she knew that she only wanted to get one to get Jon's attention. She told Lynn that it was not worth getting a tattoo, but Lynn wanted all the attention that Anya got from guys because of her tattoo. Anya pointed out that no guys were interested in her because of her tattoo and that Jon and her didn't like each other at all. She also reminded Lynn of their eight-grade dance, which they ended up going to together because nobody invited them to the dance. They ended up eating icecream while Anya told them that they could have fun without guys, but Lynn had none of it and left after throwing away her cone.
(Araña: The Heart of the Spider#5) - Lynn got flowers for Jon because she believed him to was sick as he had missed school that day. Anya considered it weird, but accompanied Lynn to Jon's place. Lynn believed Anya was jealous, but Anya told her to just trust her that she was absolutely not. She stayed with Lynn while she delivered the flowers to Jon, who was rather surprised by the present and the presence of Anya. Lynn wanted to make sure that Jon had settled in because he was new, but Anya was just there to make sure Lynn wouldn't get killed by the assassin. Jon wouldn't let them come inside and instead went for a walk with the girls. Lynn offered Jon coffee at Joe Joe's, but Jon didn't like coffee. With their arms linked, Lynn pulled Jon along to get a coffee and Jon tried really hard to discourage her, but it just wasn't working. Anya joined them on their walk and at Joe Joe's where Lynn talked about gymnastics and her dislike for field hockey because it was so brutal (Anya did both). Their coffee was interrupted by some guy getting into a fight with another guy, who accidentally hit Anya in the head with a cup of coffee, which made Jon smile. Lynn checked up on Anya while the fight between the two men escalated when one of them pulled out a gun. Anya swept the armed guy's leg and the man turned his attention to her. Anya flipped over a table to block the bullets and hide with Lynn behind it.
(Araña: The Heart of the Spider#6) - Lynn stayed hidden while Anya knocked out the armed man and even protected Jon from getting shot. After everything was over Jon was surprised that Anya would protect him and then even give him credit in front of Lynn for knocking the guy out. Jon was now Lynn's hero and she had completely fallen for him. The police arrived, picked up the gunman and took Lynn and the others to the police station to interrogate them about the incident. Lynn told an officer how Anya had flipped over a table to protect them. Anya was later picked up by her dad, but Lynn's mom was late. Gil and Anya stayed with Lynn and Gil even got them something to drink until Lynn's mom arrived. Lynn wanted a decaf caramel latte and suddenly noticed that Anya's tattoo was gone. Anya told her that she had it removed because she didn't want Lynn to make a mistake she would regret, but Lynn began to believe that it was a fake tattoo because removing it had not even left scars on Anya's skin. Lynn continued waiting while Anya left after getting a call from Nina Smith of WebCorps.

The size difference between Anya and Lynn sometimes evaporated between Amazing Fantasy issues and was completely gone in Araña: The Heart of the Spider. It didn't seem like Anya suddenly had a massive growth spurt, but Lynn shrinking is also not an option. She was originally a head taller than Anya and then suddenly was around the same height and then back to being taller and then back to being the same height. Real world explanation is that Roger Cruz always drew her at the same height as Anya, but Mark Brooks always drew her taller. Brooks was the artist on her first appearance and two more issues of Amazing Fantasy. Cruz was the artist on two Amazing Fantasy issues and the remainder of her appearances in the Araña: Heart of the Spider title. Which way should we go? I don't know! Maybe she was a mutant or Inhuman or secretly walked around on stilts...and please don't add more stupid assumptions. The ones I listed are already stupid enough. It just sucks that there was no consistency as it was extremely noticeable in this case.
Lynn liked to call Anya her girlfriend, which confused me a bit and also a few people online, who considered it queerbaiting because Lynn seemed pretty straight.
