History:
(Fantastic Four 2099#2 (fb) - BTS) - Stark-Fujikawa's leader, Hikaru-Sama, declared the Fantastic Four -- trans-temporal duplicates of Earth-616's modern era's heroes created by Uatu the Watcher-928 who believed themselves to be the originals -- to be escaped rogue laboratory experiments. 

    Hikaru-Sama subsequently hired Total Recall, the very best retrieval agency, to recover them. John Herod informed Hikaru-Sama that he would prefer the Fantastic Four to be destroyed instead.

(Fantastic Four 2099#2) - Total Recall's Blackstone tracked Mr. Fantastic and the Thing to and opened a portal in the Church of Thor where they were being given sanctuary by Pilgrim Moseley Wilson. Blackstone instructed Runaway to attack from behind, but Runaway noted that he was already on it. As Mr. Fantastic tried to disarm Hipshot, Runaway suddenly grabbed Mr. Fantastic's arms and tied them around a pole. After Mr. Fantastic swiftly untied himself and mocked his knot-tying ability, noting that he wasn't a boyscout and wasn't much better as an assassin, Runaway punched him in the face and clarified that their targets were just property and that Total Recall was the "best shockin' repo men in the business."

    After Squeeze had battered Mr. Fantastic and Hipshot had stunned the Thing with a series of blasts, Runaway eagerly noted it was his turn, and he attacked the pair while Blackstone located the Human Torch and Invisible Woman. 

(Fantastic Four 2099#2 (fb) - BTS) - Hipshot, Runaway, and/or Squeeze took out the Thing and Mr. Fantastic.

(Fantastic Four 2099#2) - After Blackstone returned with Johnny and Sue, Reed and Ben were lying immobile, and Runaway smiled tauntingly at the newly arrived heroes.

(Fantastic Four 2099#3) - The Invisible Woman warned Total Recall that if something happened to her family, they'd never seen what hit them. After Squeeze advised the Invisible Woman that the FF were property of Stark-Fujikawa and that Total Recall was taking them back, Runaway added, "unbowed, broken, or in a box -- up to you!"

    When the Invisible Woman blocked Hipshot's bullets with a force field, Blackstone formed a portal that allowed Total Recall to bypass the field and confront the new arrivals again. 

    While Squeeze assured Blackstone that she only needed one shot, Runaway noted that if she didn't keep up with him, she wouldn't even get that. The Invisible Woman projected beams that struck Squeeze and Hipshot, but Runaway dodged the beam aimed at him and then ran circles around the Human Torch, generating a vacuum. As Runaway taunted the Torch, "Lack of oxygen making everything spin? Go in circles? Or is it just m--EEEEE!" the Torch suddenly swung a board out, tripping Runaway and causing to crash into the recovered Thing.

    After Hipshot cut down Pilgrim Moseley Wilson with a hail of bullets, the Fantastic Four departed to get Moseley to a Docs-in-the-Box. Able to track the Fantastic Four via his wrist device, Blackstone noted that they could let them run and exhaust themselves; he then instructed Squeeze to try to wake up Runaway.

    After Moseley died, Runaway appeared via Blackstone's portal, and Hipshot shot the Torch in the shoulder. After the Torch collapsed, the Thing angrily assaulted Total Recall, and Runaway narrowly dodged being hit. When Runaway charged again, the Thing punched the ground, knocking Runaway into the air and then maneuvered a construction board to strike him, knocking him out. The Thing and Invisible Woman took out the rest of Total Recall. 

    As Total Recall recovered, Squeeze told Blackstone to teleport back to Stark-Fujikawa and get another locator (to replace the one the Invisible Woman had stolen) so they could get back to business, but Blackstone argued that that would not enhance their pro-rep rating and that they needed to find the fugitives on their own. 

(Fantastic Four 2099#3 (fb) - BTS) - Blackstone followed the Fantastic Four's trail, but, upon encountering Helcorp's D-Man River Styx, a frightened Blackstone canceled the contract and departed. 

(Fantastic Four 2099#3 (fb) - BTS) - After Mr. Fantastic neutralized the nano-tracers Stark-Fujikawa had used to track them, Total Recall demanded a "outrageous amount" to continue their operations. Hikaru-Sama instructed Shudo to pay Total Recall a kill fee, as Stark-Fujikawa no longer required their services.

    Runaway's origins are unrevealed. He certainly seemed like a human man, so likely a mutate or mutant, but he could be an Eternal, an Inhuman, some other Hidden race, an artificial construct, extraterrestrial, extradimensional, etc.

    This profile was completed 02/13/2022, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25^th anniversary 's celebratory event.
