History:
(Cowboy Action I#8) - Quiet Smith was from Dodge City, Kansas. Setting out on a trip to Abilene, Texas, he passed through the town of Sagebrush. Smith asked the local bully Moose Orby where he could find a cool glass of milk. Orby looked down on anyone who didn't drink alcohol and took immediate offense, angrily confronting Smith to explain himself. Smith introduced himself and remarked the country was "dusty" which also offended Moose. Moose ordered Smith to leave town but Smith insisted he would have his drink of milk first. Now violent, Moose swung a fist at Smith but Smith dodged him, permitting Moose to fall to the ground.
Moose now demanded Smith face him in a gunfight but Smith noted his holster had been tied up so he couldn't draw at that moment. Moose angrily tore open Smith's holster; Smith realized that now he couldn't avoid a gunfight and agreed to face him. He drew his gun quickly and shot Moose's gun from his hand. Again, Smith insisted he wanted to have his glass of milk but despite his hand being injured, Moose still tried to fight Smith. Smith quickly punched Moose to the ground, leaving him beaten without ever being struck himself. With Moose defeated, Smith asked another onlooker where he could find some milk. Smith's humiliating defeat of Moose caused Moose to rename himself "Quiet Orby."

Moose Orby was the strongest, meanest, roughest bully in Sagebrush. When Moose wanted to have a drink with someone he refused to accept any reason why they might not drink with him; when Jess Peters demurred because he didn't drink, Moose threw him headfirst into a rain barrel. Just minutes later, Quiet Smith arrived looking for a glass of milk. Moose took immediate offense and drew Quiet Smith into a fight but despite Smith seeming a modest man he easily outfought Moose in hand-to-hand combat, then shot Moose's gun from his hand in a gunfight and finally defeated Moose with a few punches. Moose was so humbled by this encounter with Quiet Smith that he subsequently renamed himself "Quiet Orby" and opened up a milk bar as he converted the entire town of Sagebrush into drinking milk instead of alcohol.

Jess Peters was a resident in Sagebrush. Jess did not like to drink alcohol. When Jess refused to have a drink with Moose Orby, the offended Moose picked him up over his head then threw him headfirst into a rain barrel as punishment.
