Powers/Abilities: They were little demonic-looking creatures with forked tongues and horned heads that could increase their movement speed by jumping. They were intelligent enough to steal gasoline and keep an engine running. They were not seen having any other special abilities.
Traits: The Pineys were created for a single purpose, which they loyally followed through until things went sour and their sense of self-preservation kicked in.

History:
(B-Sides#1/2 (fb) - BTS) - Arnim Zola allegedly bio-engineered the
Pineys to guard his alleged Bio-sleeper hidden in a trailer in the Pine
Woods in New Jersey and keep it refrigerated until it was ready.
(B-Sides#1/2) - While Feeva discussed with her friends how to find the fabled Nazi Sleeper of North Jersey, one of the Pineys stole gasoline from their car behind their backs. When Feeva activated her miniature camera units she saw the creature and recognized it as a Piney, which ran off into the woods with the stolen gasoline. Feeva, Fateball, Jughandle and Mize followed the creature to a trailer and watched it fill an engine with the stolen gasoline. Feeva and Jughandle tried to talk to it, but the group found themselves quickly surrounded by a horde of Pineys and took the fight to them. The Pineys ran off scared after Mize's powers of decay caused a nearby tree to fall on the engine and destroy it.

Evan Dorkin is listed as a creator because he created the character designs for the B-Sides series. This likely included the Pineys.
The Pineys weren't actually identified, but Feeva called the first they saw a Piney. Pineys is actually a derogatory term for New Jersey Pine Barrens inhabitants. It is not an actual cryptid, which I originally believed these things to be. The B-Sides' profile in All-New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z#2 (April, 2006) confirmed the name as official.
Jughandle believed the Bio-sleeper to be a creation of Arnim Zola and logically assumed the Pineys to be his creations as well.
Feeva clearly knew more than she led on about the Pineys and the Sleeper because she was actually sent on this mission by the Pegasus Institute as a final test of her abilities. We will probably never learn what she knew about them though and are left with the assumptions by her teammate Jughandle.
