History: (Chee'lith#1 (fb)) - Peter lived near and worked at the False Island Nuclear Power Plant. He and his wife had fostered several children at their house. Their latest foster was a young orphaned girl of the Skatin Nations named Gail who tried to speak the language of her people. For that, Peter hit her, telling the kid to speak English and act "normal." Peter's wife was more welcoming to Gail, but did nothing to restrain Peter's behavior. Gail would stay in their house for over a decade, during which Peter was nothing but cruel to her.

(Chee'lith#1 - BTS) - One day, the experimental gamma reactor at the False Island Nuclear Power Plant went into meltdown, causing an explosion. Gail saw this on the news and rushed to save her Peter despite his treatment of her.

(Chee'lith#1) - Gail ran inside the burning Power Plant and found Peter inside. However, another worker had become affected by gamma radiation and was transformed into a large, green-skinned monster. Gail had to carry Peter out on her back, while being careful enough not to attract the monster's attention. Outside, Peter asked Gail why she chose to save him, and she replied that she felt compelled to do what a normal kid may choose not to.

(Chee'lith#1 - BTS) - Gail's bravery and generosity were noticed by two of her ancestral spirits, Brother Grizzly and Sister Eagle. They transformed Gail into their Champion named Chee'lith, both a warrior and a healer. Chee'lith defeated the gamma mutate, restored him back to normal, and would go on to become a hero of her people.

Chee'lith is an original First Nations character created by Kabam for their fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions, in which various characters from different alternate realities are transported into the Battlerealm. The artists, designers, and cultural experts behind Chee'lith and her backstory were themselves First Nation people. Her debut in the game was preceded by a 12-page promotional comic, distributed physically at 2023 New York Comic Con and made available digitally on Marvel.com.

Peter's exact legal relation to Chee'lith is somewhat unclear. Gail is referred to as a foster kid in the same scene where Peter is called her stepfather, despite those terms not being equivalent. Gail's full name is given as "Gail Evelyn Williams" on the game's website, but from the contest it appears unlikely for the name "Williams" to come from Peter and his wife.

This profile was completed 07/15/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25^th anniversary's celebratory event.
