History:
(Western Outlaws I#1) - In the spring of 1850, Juan Perez led an army of bandits from Mexico into California, having heard of the gold rush fever in that state and wanting to raid the wealthy gold hunters. Riding into the border town Casson City, Juan killed several residents, including Mr. Collins and raided Collins' general stores for all of its supplies. This incident caused the U.S. Cavalry to begin operations to stop Perez, but Perez's maintained a great amount of faith from his followers who saw him as someone who would lead them from victory to victory. Secretly, Perez harbored ambitions to conquer Mexico itself one day.
On March 28, 1950, Perez's men raided a gold mine and killed two miners, Charlie and his friend. Using dynamite they collapsed the mine, killing the other miners who were still inside. Perez and his men claimed all the gold they could and Perez declared that with the gold they could afford to equip an army and he would soon declare himself a general.
However, Major Dawson of the U.S. Cavalry had been on Perez's trail and caught up to him at the ruins of the mine. Perez and his men began fighting the Cavalry but were outmatched and underpowered. Perez finally decided to abandon his men to the Cavalry and flee for his life. His top lieutenant Chacon saw him departing and tried to force him to stay but Perez shot him in the stomach then fled into the mountains. Perez was trailed by Major Dawson himself and three of his sergeants. Firing at them from above, Perez killed two of Dawso's men but unwittingly backed into the mouth of a cave inhabited by a bear. Angered at his intrusion, the bear attacked Perez and began mauling him. Dawson arrived in time to kill the bear but Perez was already dead from the bear's assault.

Chacon was Juan Perez's top lieutenant and most loyal follower. When they were attacked by the Cavalry forces led by Major Dawson, Perez chose to abandon his men. When Chacon refused to let him evade the fight, Perez shot him in the stomach. Major Dawson's men soon took over Perez's camp and found Chacon still alive. Chacon indicated where Perez had fled to the Cavalry.

Mr. Collins owned a general store in Classon City, California on the Mexican border. When his town was raided by Juan Perez, Mr. Collins refused to hand over his goods even to save his own life. In retaliation, Perez killed Mr. Collins then pillaged his store.

Major Dawson was the U.S. Cavalry officer assigned by Colonel Harvey Lawson to stop Juan Perez. Dawson caught up to Perez outside of a gold mine he had attacked. As Dawson quickly triumphed over Perez's followers, Perez fled into the mountains and Dawson gave chase with three of his men. Perez killed two of Dawson's men but accidentally fled into a bear's cave and was mauled by the bear. Dawson arrived in time to shoot the bear but Perez was already dead.
