Powers/Abilities: Exorbitantly wealth and formerly in possession of large quantities of illicit gold and jewelry, Bubu enjoyed a decadent lifestyle, involving orgies and drugs.

    He is apparently fluent in both English and Arabic (and possibly Malay).

History:
(Dark Reign: The Hood#1 (fb) - BTS) - The nephew of the Sultan of the nation of Brunei, Bubu Marzouk spent an unspecified number of years in the United States, as it better matched his (presumably decadent) lifestyle. He kept a fortune locally in a vault, stuff the Sultan didn't want traced in banks.

(Dark Reign: The Hood#1 (fb) - BTS) <A week before the main story> - A scandal with "the embassy orgy" caused Bubu's family to call him home. Cleaning out his vault to take it all back within him, Bubu it loaded into a truck, but he also had a pair of decoy trucks to throw off anyone seeking to steal his property.

    Learning of Bubu's plans from unspecified people very high up, the Hood arranged for his gang to stake out the George Washington Bridge and other bridges off of the island of Manhattan, while Madame Masque posed as "entertainment" for his drive to the airport.
    Additionally, knowing that the stuff in Bubu's vault was "hot"  (stolen and/or illegal), the Hood and John realized that they would not have to worry about the Sultan getting the US federal government to go after them to recover it.

(Dark Reign: The Hood#1) - Bubu met his driver, dismissing his greeting of "Assalam Alaikum," but pleased to see the shapely "going away" present his servants had gotten for him inside of his limousine. Pleased, Bubu surmised that this was to ease his transition back home, and, as he closed the privacy glass, he told her she did not need to wear a veil, as they had complete privacy. As she noted that she would instead put on something else, Bubu was excited by the "Western kinky,"and he told her that if they worked well together, she may wish to stay in his employ, as he paid very well.

    However, as he unbuttoned his shirt, Madame Masque, now wearing her mask and shoving a gun in his face, told him that she had heard of his fortune and that he had three seconds to tell her what truck it was in.

(Dark Reign: The Hood#1 (fb) - BTS) - Bubu wet his pants and told Masque which truck to hit.

(Dark Reign: The Hood#1 - BTS) - Masque reported the information to John King, who had Thunderball stop the truck as it crossed over a Manhattan Bridge. Prepared for superhuman attack, Bubu's men incapacitated Thunderball and the Wrecker with their Neural Ion Gun, but the Hood then appeared and shot (and presumably killed) the armed guards.

    Leaving behind the unconscious driver, they took the track back to "Safehouse Four," where Chemistro had the guards' bodies atomized. Madame Masque asked for a bigger cut for having to deal with Bubu and his bladder control problem.

   This profile was completed 03/29/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25^th anniversary 's celebratory event.
