malhotra-swapna&preeti-threat.jpgPowers/Abilities: Preeti and Swapna are young women and did not demonstrate any superhuman abilities.

They were willing to stand up to armed adult male terrorists, and one of them (Preeti?) was able to pull an adult male off his feet by yanking her hand out of his wrist (presumably pulling his upper body forward somewhat) and kicking out his foot. Or, at least just kicking him.

Both of them expressed a desire to learn some "super hero fight moves" from Wasp, and they likely received some training from her.

Height: Unrevealed (approximately 4'11" (see comments)
Weight: Unrevealed (approximately 90 lbs. at that height, as they had petite figures)
Eyes: Unrevealed (likely brown)
Hair: Black

History:

(Secret Empire: Brave New World#1/2 (fb) - BTS) - Having lost two toes to frostbite while fighting in Siachen (presumably against Pakistani forces), Mr. Malhotra immigrated to America so his children would never have to fight like he did.

Settling in Denver, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra had a son, Raz, and two daughters, Preeti and Swapna.

Raz eventually left home, moving to San Francisco (where he became the super hero Giant-Man ) and then to Florida.

When Hydra took over Denver, Mr. Malhotra spoke out against Hydra to his neighbors.

After things fell through in Florida, Raz, called his father and arranged to come back home.malhotra-swapna&preeti-kick

As Raz arrived in Denver, A trio of Hydra agents confronted the Malhotra family at gunpoint, bringing them out to their yard at gunpoint and apparently at least roughing up Mr. Malhotra a little.

(Secret Empire: Brave New World#1/2) - With their father forced on to his knees, Preeti and Swapna stood behind him as the Hydra agents told him that their neighbors had told them he had been insulting Hydra. The Hydra agents further advised Mr. Malhotra that if he refused to give up his illusions, it was going to get his family hurt. They told him to just say, "Hail Hydra," and the problem would go away. When Mr. Malhotra defiantly refused, one of the agents suggested that they start with "these pretty little daughters of yours."

After they asked Mr. Malhotra which one was his favorite, Giant-Man arrived and told the Hydra agents to leave this patriotic American citizen alone. After he grabbed one of the Hydra agents, another grabbed one of the Malhotra sisters' (Preeti?) hand and told Giant-Man to get back or he would shoot the girl. While the other sister shouted to let her go, the threatened sister instead yanked her hand free from the Hydra agent forward and kicking out his foot, yelling, "Get lost, snakeboy!", after which Giant-Man grabbed him, too.

After sticking those two Hydra agents in the Malhotra's yard's tree, Giant-Man reiterated his sister's statement as he flicked the last Hydra agent away (with enough height that he may have died or suffered multiple fractures and internal injuries upon landing; but, let's just assume that was artistic license).

Using one of his family members' phones, Giant-Man contacted Ant-Man (Scott Lang), who soon after arrived with Wasp and extracted them from the area.

Aboard the aircraft, one of the sisters (Swapna?) told Wasp she loved her costume while the other (Preeti?) asked Wasp if she could teach them some "super hero fight moves." Wasp cheerfully agreed and asked what they wanted to know.

Ant-Man advised Giant-Man that he better be careful, as he might end up with sidekicks, earning a chuckle from Raz.

Comments: Created by Jeremy Whitley and Diego Olortegui.

I started this profile intending to just cover Swapna, but in re-reviewing the story, and I don't see anything that makes it clear which one is Swapna vs. Preeti, with the exception of the left-to-right order in which they are standing and the order of names Raz uses for them. Preeti is named first, which might fit with the one wearing the dress, since she is to the left, but it could also have been an age or alphabetical order in which their names were given.
Since it was uncertain, I just decided to profile them both.
If/when the matter is clarified, the profile can be split into one for each of the sisters.
If their father had received a first name, I would have profiled him, instead.
The mother was the least developed, but both sisters and the father were very likable in their limited appearances.

As reminded by Loki, Wasp (Nadia Van Dyne) had a Marvel Fact Files profile in 2017, which put her at 5'2" at the time (she is young and may have grown since then, but that was her height at the time). Preeti and Swapna look to be a 2-3" shorter than the Wasp when standing close to each other in profile, so I went with 4'11" for them.

It stretches the limits of the imagination a bit when family members don't recognize their relative by voice and especially when they only have a partial face mask (especially with the eyes visible).
Maybe there's some Reed Richards-tech that obscures the facial features or makes them look like someone else or dulls some recognition centers in the viewer.

I don't think it is clearly stated whether Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra moved to the USA before or after they had children.

We also don't know how old Preeti and Swapna were (as I write the profile for them in 2026, nearly 10 years have passed since the original story, so they are perhaps 2 years older). They still lived with their parents, but based on their appearance, they could have been anywhere from 13- to 23-years-old in that story.
Plus, they were the same size. Were they twins?

When one of the Hydra agents grabs one of the sisters' hand, there's an error with the word balloon shouting, "Let her go!" as it is coming from the girl being held.

This profile was completed 04/12/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25th anniversary 's celebratory event.
