History:
(
Immortal Iron Fist Annual#1 (fb) - BTS) <According to the Lightning Lords> - Orson Randall murdered their honorable father and stole the favorite horse of one of the Lightning Lords.

(Immortal Iron Fist Annual#1 (fb) - BTS) - The Adventurers' Club was known only to "Men of Certain Deadly Persuasion," such as the Lightning Lords of Nepal and Orson Randall.lightning_lords-nepal-confront

(Immortal Iron Fist Annual#1 (fb) - BTS) - Seeking the bounty on Orson Randall's head after he had refused to compete in the tournament in the Heart of Heaven, the Bride of Nine Spiders apparently allied with the Lightning Lords of Nepal, bestowing upon them unspecified "kindnesses."

(Immortal Iron Fist Annual#1 (fb)) <1928 A.D.> - When Orson Randall and his friend L.P. visited the Adventurers' Club, they were discovered (or had previously been discovered and were now followed) by the Lightning Lords.

lightning_lords-nepal-shock    As Orson and Pierre enjoyed a drink, one of the Lightning Lords told his brothers that they had found their target and that he had notified their mistress. The second brother was pleased, further noting that this was indeed the man that had murdered their most noble father and stolen that brother's favorite horse; the third brother correctly suspected that that horse was tied outside at this very moment, presuming that it was just to spite him.

Meanwhile, L.P. asked about the guys who kept looking over at them and wringing their hands maniacally. Randall told L.P. to be quiet and informed him that they were the Lightning Lords of Nepal and that maniacal was "what they do," but that they weren't anything to worry about.

L.P. asked if Orson thought that he could talk to them and if they would be amenable to being interviewed for the histories, but -- as he finished his drink -- Orson advised him, "Oh, absolutely not. Fact is, I suspect they'll be trying to kill us soon..."

As if on cue, the Lightning Lord then confronted the pair, bristling with electricity, with one of them shouting out Randall's name while kicking over a nearby table and telling him that all of the powers he had pilfered from K'un-Lun could not protect him now.

Laughing while replying that they were the ones who needed protection, Orson kicked one of them in the face (knocking him back into the other) and then dodged a strike by the third and then smashed that one's head into a table.

As Orson taunted his fallen foes that that had just been him and that he had not even needed to bring K'un-Lun into it and that he had always figure that there were about two Lightning Lords too many, one of the Lightning Lords reached forward and fired a burst of electrical energy into Randall, shocking and dropping him.

Standing over the fallen Randall, one of the Lightning Lords advised him that he would wish that he had killed them a thousands times over when they unfurled their "Flag of Many Agonies" around them. Another Lighting Lord added, "Your ancestors will surely weep from the 'White Man's Hell they surely languish in when we--'"

He was interrupted by the arrival of the Bride of Nine Spiders, who proclaimed, "Enough." The Lords assured their mistress that they meant no harm, but she demanded silence, advising them that otherwise the kindnesses that she had bestowed upon them would quickly come to an end.

The Bride advised Randall of the bounty on his head and that is was her good fortune that she and the Lightning Lords -- rather than the other Immortal Weapons -- found him first. When Orson refused to fight her, she denounced him as a coward unworthy of her most divine punishments and instructed the Lightning Lords to destroy him.lightning_lords-nepal-hands

With each of the brothers joining a hand, the brothers advised the Bride not to worry, as killing cowards was a bit of a pastime for -- as they merged into a single being -- "Super Lightning Lord, electric demon of Manaslu!"

Randall could only proclaim, "My God..." before the Super Lightning Lord blasted him out of the tavern. Although covered and burns and agonies, Randall was rescued by L.P., who rode the Lightning Lord's previously stolen horse -- which had indeed been tied outside -- grabbed him by the arm, and raced away with him.

Emerging from the tavern but apparently unable to catch or stop his enemies, the Super Lightning Lord shouted, "Nooooo! My horse!"

(Immortal Iron Fist Annual#1 (fb) - BTS) - Orson Randall healed himself by focusing his purest chi inward on the Inner Wheels of Healing.

(Immortal Iron Fist#16 (fb) - BTS) - The Lightning Lords had multiple encounters with Orson Randall.

(Immortal Iron Fist#16 (fb) - BTS) - The Lightning Lords had multiple encounters with Dog Brother#1.

(Immortal Iron Fist#6 (fb) - BTS) - Two of the Lightning Lords forfeited their lives to Orson Randall.
It is unclear whether they both died during the same encounter, and the circumstances of their deaths and/or forfeit(s) are unrevealed.lightning_lords-nepal-last-accept

(Immortal Iron Fist#6 (fb) - BTS) - At the Adventurers' Club, the last Lightning Lord challenged Orson Randall to a drinking game involving the magic Chalices of Xu-Ma and the lost Drinking Laws of Me-Lao.

(Immortal Iron Fist#6 (fb) - BTS) - Randall's friend Lucky Pierre failed in coaching him in the game, apparently failing to detect the Lightning Lord's machinations, and Randall began to feel the effects of the drinks he had been forced to consume during this game.

(Immortal Iron Fist#6 (fb)) -While Orson chastised L.P., chiding him for not paying more attention to the last Lightning Lord, and which of the magic Chalices of Xu-Ma he had poisoned. The Last Lightning Lord instructed Randall to choose his chalice or, by the lost Drinking Laws of Me-Lao, Randall had to admit defeat and forfeit his life to him, as his brothers had once forfeited theirs unto Randall.

Randall was going to choose the blue chalice until the young Wendell Rand, who was working as a servant at that tavern, told Randall that he had seen the Lightning Lord put the poison in the green one.

As Wendell spoke English and the Light Lord spoke either Nepali or one of the 123 other languages of Nepal, it appeared that the Lightning Lord may not have realized that Randall had been informed of his actions.

Regardless, Orson chose blue for himself and green for the Lightning Lord. Replying only, "Well, great" (in his language), the last Lightning Lord consumed the poisoned drink to honor the game and apparently perished.

This encounter led to the association of Orson Randall and Wendell Rand, who later traveled to K'un-Lun and fathered Daniel Rand, who became Iron Fist.

(Immortal Iron Fist#16 (fb) - BTS) - The Lightning Lords' descendants included the three Xao brothers, who could combine their chi to create a kind of beast made of pure lightning.

(Immortal Iron Fist#16 (fb) - BTS) - Orson Randall allegedly killed one of the Xao brothers.

(Immortal Iron Fist#16 (fb) - BTS) - The Bride of Nine Spiders employed Xao to hunt down Orson Randall.

(Immortal Iron Fist#16 - BTS) - In recent years, following Orson's death, the Immortal Weapons, including the successor of the Bride of Nine Spiders who had employed Xao, discussed the Lightning Lords, the Xao brothers and the evidence of an Eighth Immortal City.

Comments: Created by Ed Brubaker, Matt Fraction & Dan Brereto.

Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction's Immortal Iron Fist was definitely my favorite Iron Fist series, even though I preferred the previous indications that Wendell Rand was the son of previous August Personage in Jade (Yu-Ti)

Note: I'm not certain which of the three Lightning Lords was the last one. In the top images, the one on the right in the upper left image, who is also on the left in the upper right image, has the mustache only, like the Last Lightning Lord, but he obviously could have changed his facial hairstyle (obviously the hairstyle on his head changed from full to bald and/or shaved).

I don't think we know anything more about the Chalices of Xu-Ma other than that their were magic and used in a challenge involving the
lost Drinking Laws of Me-Lao. We don't know if Xu-Ma is a being, a place, a thing or something else.

Similarly, I don't think we know anything about the
lost Drinking Laws of Me-Lao, other than that they were rules regarding drinking (presumably some sort of alcoholic or otherwise intoxicating beverage). We don't know if Me-Lao is a being, a place, a thing or something else

SUPER LIGHTNING LORD
electric demon of Manaslu

lightning_lords-nepal-sll-blastlightning_lords-nepal-sll    Super Lightning Lord was created from the combined chi of the three Lightning Lords of Nepal.

Perhaps 10' tall and glowing with, if not composed of, electricity, the Super Lightning Lord could unleash bursts of electricity of sufficient power to badly burn a person -- even one imbued with the "Iron Fist" power of Shou-Lao the Undying.

The Bride of Nine Spiders advised Randall of the bounty on his head and that is was her good fortune that she and the Lightning Lords -- rather than the other Immortal Weapons -- found him first.

When Orson refused to fight her, she denounced him as a coward unworthy of her most divine punishments and instructed the Lightning Lords to destroy him.

With each of the brothers joining a hand, the brothers advised the Bride not to worry, as killing cowards was a bit of a pastime for -- as they merged into a single being -- "Super Lightning Lord, electric demon of Manalsu!"

--Immortal Iron Fist Annual#1

Note: It was unclear to me whether the Lightning Lords actually combined and became the Super Lightning Lord or whether they used their energies to create this being. I ASSume the former, as it spoke with the voice of one of them, but who knows...?

Manaslu is a mountain in Nepal, and it means "Mountain of the Spirit"

The Lightning Lords formed the Super Lightning Lord, who blasted Orson out of the tavern.
