Powers/Abilities: Kruel's bat-like (or perhaps some other rodent?) appearance would seem to indicate that he would possess bat-like abilities, including nocturnal vision and/or a radar-like sense +/- sharp claws and teeth.

    He may or may not have had enhanced strength, speed, healing and/or the ability to fly.

    He was likely trained and experienced in armed and unarmed combat, tracking, etc.

    However, he did not demonstrate any particular abilities in his limited appearances.

History:

(Predator vs. Wolverine#1 (fb) - BTS) <Many years ago> - Alongside Jackson, Maverick, Sabretooth and Wolverine, Kruel was part of a Team X mission to South America to end the threat of an unidentified former general who was storing weapons and rallying support for a planned coup from a jungle stronghold.

 (Predator vs. Wolverine#2 - BTS) - A group of five Yautja attacked, slew and skinned a number of the general's men. The general and the other survivors fled into a mountain cavern where they kept their weapons and explosives.

 (Predator vs. Wolverine#1) - With Professor Thorton remaining aboard the helicopter, Team X climbed down ropes into the jungle, where Sabretooth and Wolverine swiftly smelled blood. However, as they prepared to assault the base, they found a dead and skinned guard, after which a launched net trapped Kruel, cutting into his flesh as it bound him tightly (and possibly killing him).kruel-tx-41341-full-net

    Meanwhile, a quintet of five Yautja then confronted the rest of the group.

 (Predator vs. Wolverine#2) - Kruel remained trapped by the net (and possibly dead) as Team X engaged the Yautja.

 (Predator vs. Wolverine#2 - BTS) - Jackson was also slain by the Yautja, but Maverick, Sabretooth and Wolverine survived, apparently slaying a couple Yautja in battle. By allying with the general and using his weapons cache to cause an explosion to take out the remaining Yautja, although at least one survived.

    We don't know if Kruel had a counterpart in Earth-616's Team X.
    What were his origins and powers? Why was he called "Kruel"? What was his real name? Could he speak or just screech?
    I who had to think he was somehow crushed or fatally lacerated by that net, or else the Yautja slew him behind-the-scenes during the subsequent battle, as no effort was made by Team X to recover him.
    For the purpose of this story, as noted by Loki, Kruel and Jackson served as "redshirts" (a reference to the Star Trek expendable characters who beamed down to a planet alongside Kirk, Spock and other major characters).

    Shame the general was never named, as it would make him for recognizable and easy to reference.

Earth-41341 Yautja battled Wolverine and Black Panther before launching a full-scale invasion of Earth, aided by their ally Kraven the Hunter. Predator vs. Wolverine #1 (2023)
