History:
(Sentinel II#5 (fb) - BTS) - Jeff Knudson and Archie Hunt were best friends in high school. Back then, they both wanted to become leaders "in the worst way."
(Sentinel II#1 (fb) - BTS) - While running for senator of Wisconsin against Richardson, Knudson made an alliance with Archie, who was now in the U.S. Military and had access to a Sentinel. Hunt convinced Knudson to use the Sentinel to assassinate Richardson. The assassination went off without being linked back to either man but the Sentinel failed to self-destruct.
(Sentinel II#3 (fb) - BTS) - After Juston Seyfert of Antigo, Wisconsin drove off a supposed alien robot from his high school, Senator Knudson met Juston and congratulated him. Knudson had no idea that the "alien robot" was actually the Sentinel he and Archie had used.
(Sentinel II#1) - Colonel Archie Hunt met with Knudson early one morning at the National Mall and brought him into a secret base beneath the National Mall. Hunt told Knudson that the Sentinel they'd used had been active in Wisconsin, Knudson's own home state. Hunt showed Knudson a file he took from the Commission on Superhuman Activities about the Sentinel. Knudson had hoped the Sentinel had self-destructed and he wouldn't have to face what they'd done. As they were unable to recall the Sentinel remotely, Knudson feared his career would be ruined if he were linked to the Sentinel; however, Colonel Hunt revealed his plan was to deploy a new model of Sentinel, the Mark VII-A, to destroy the old one.
(Sentinel II#2) - Looking at the new Sentinel, Knudson wondered why Hunt didn't use that model instead of the older one they'd deployed. Hunt explained it hadn't been operational at the time of the assassination. Hunt activated the Sentinel and sent it to Wisconsin to find their target.
(Sentinel II#3) - Knudson was interrupted during dinner by Hunt, who needed to meet with him again. Hunt informed him the new Sentinel lost in its first fight against the old Sentinel, irritating Knudson because Hunt had been so certain the newer model would prevail. Hunt informed Knudson that the lost Sentinel was being controlled by teenager Juston Seyfert. This surprised Knudson, who didn't want Juston harmed, but Hunt insisted they should eliminate Juston as well. After a long night wrestling with the matter while the Sentinel ran its self-repair program, Knudson asked Hunt to only destroy the Sentinel, but Hunt was certain Juston would have examined the Sentinel's archive and discovered their involvement. Hunt finally convinced Knudson to authorize Juston's death.
(Sentinel II#4) - Jeff returned to Hunt's secret base against his better wishes to help monitor him as he remote piloted their Sentinel against Juston's. Knudson used his influence to focus the FBI and Commision's resources in Minnesota, rather than in Wisconsin.
(Sentinel II#5) - Hunt's fight with Juston's Sentinel went into Antigo, Wisconsin, forcing them to clash in public against Knudson's wishes. When Hunt's Sentinel finally had Juston's helpless, Knudson lunged at Hunt to stop him. Hunt lost control long enough for Juston to recover and his Sentinel rendered Hunt's inoperable. Speaking to Hunt through their Sentinels' communication systems, Juston revealed he knew enough to realize Senator Knudson had used the Sentinel to murder Richardson. Juston promised that if they ever came after him or his Sentinel again, he'd go public with everything he knew.
In the aftermath, Knudson believed their position was even worse than before; Hunt noted they'd finally become leaders "in the worst way."
