Powers/Abilities: The Knot's only documented power of any sort is a fantastic ability to untie incredibly complicated knots.

    It is unrevealed whether there is any upper limit to the complexity of the knots he can unravel.

    The Knot wears yellow gloves, which may possibly aid him in his unknotting endeavors.

History:

(Pizzazz#9 - BTS) - Famed actress/model Farrah Fawcett-Majors was scheduled to shoot yet another of her many magazine covers. Preparing to leave for her appointment, she attempted to tie her shoelaces. However she accidentally tied the laces tightly together to each other. Despite her best efforts, she was unable to undo her mistake. Not seeing any solution, she feared she might never be able to participate in another magazine cover shoot again.

(Pizzazz#9) - The Knot, through unrevealed means, learned of Farrah's dilemma. He rushed to her location and was able to quickly untangle the horrible mess that she had created.

    It is unrevealed how he came by this skill -- whether it was due to long hours of training, some freakish accident, or simply being born with this amazing gift.

    Although I could not find any evidence, I suspect Andy Borowitz may be the same person as the well-known political satirist who also created the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

    Farrah Fawcett was a real-life actress best known for the 1970s television series Charlie's Angels, as well as films such as Logan's Run. She was married for a while to Lee Majors of Six Million Dollar Man fame. Ads selling posters of her and other celebrities were a common feature in comic books of the period, which was probably how I first heard of her. (Coincidently, one of her very first acting roles was in a Mayberry R.F.D. episode entitled "Millie, the Model"!)

    Pizzazz was a youth-oriented magazine published by Marvel from 1977 to 1979. Lasting for 16 issues, it featured pop culture articles, humor pieces, puzzles, and comic strips.

    The Knot's sole appearance was in an article entitled "Superheroes We'd Like to See". To quote the article, "Here are a few guys who if you saw them on the streets you wouldn't think they are so special. WHY??? BECAUSE THEY AREN'T SO SPECIAL!!! No, not a one of them can fly, smash through steel walls, stop speeding bullets or save the Earth from the ravages of Howard Cosell. They're the NEW GENERATION OF SUPER-HEROES - SUPERHEROES with VERY LIMITED POWERS!!! Guys who can only do one or two MEASLY, HALF-BAKED TRICKY THINGS!! GUYS WHO AREN'T EVEN ANY BETTER THAN YOU OR US!!!!"

    The three other superheroes featured in the article were Smash-O-Man, Anglo-Man, and Mister Nice-Guy. It is unrevealed whether any of these four heroes ever met or formed a team. If they did form a team, it seems unlikely that the team's name was actually "the New Generation of Super-Heroes" or "Superheroes with Very Limited Powers" -- but with characters such as these one never knows!

    The Pizzazz article only mentions the Farrah Fawcett incident as a hypothetical example of the type of situation that the Knot might find himself in. However, given the infinite nature of the Marvel Multiverse, it stands to reason that there probably is some reality out there in which the Knot's conjectured adventure did indeed take place as described. This is a profile of the Knot of that reality.

    Although there is not much information out there about this decidedly second-string superhero, hopefully this profile has tied up any loose ends.

Howard Cosell was a sportscaster notorious for his verbose and outspoken manner. Although he was apparently viewed by some as a global threat, it is unrevealed whether he ever actually came into conflict with any superheroes.
