Powers/Abilities: Morton Klasser has no superhuman powers. He was a relatively large man, prone to physical violence. 

    Possessed by the demon, he could dive through a glass door without obvious injury, but he was forced to follow the demons commands, although he could verbally argue.

Weight: Unrevealed (approximately 240 lbs.)
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown (receding hairline)
Unusual Features: He had some sort of skin condition on the left side of his face, worst between his eye and mouth, but also on his forehead; he certainly appeared to have some moles, but he had some darkened pigmentation. The latter was much more pronounced when he was possessed, but you can see some degree of it in the top right image, which was prior to his possession.

History:
(Midnight Sons Unlimited#9/2 (fb) - BTS) - Morton Klass married Marie.

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#9/2 (fb) - BTS) - Marie hired private investigator Leena Wolfe to gather evidence of Morton's abuse.

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#9/2 (fb) - BTS) - Evidence gathered by Wolfe helped put Morton away. He was imprisoned at Ryker's Island Correctional Facility.

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#9/2) - Four years later, Morton was released from Ryker's Island. A guard at the gate told him to "Keep his knuckles outta your old lady's face this time, Buddy. We don't want you back." Morton replied that he could go his whole life without ever "lookin' at your pukeface again." Morton further considered that he never wanted to see that "sow I made the mistake of marryin'" again either, and he didn't want to "dirty his hands on her homely kisser." 

    However, as he considered how he would like to have revenge on Wolfe, an unidentified demon agent of the demonic Aan Taanu possessed him. Aan Taanu sought to harm his enemy Omen via his human host, Charles Blackwater, former boyfriend of Alison Lamb, who had hired Wolfe to investigate Blackwater's mysterious disappearance.

    Morton briefly sensed something to be amiss before he found his resolution solidified to beat up "that skank that put me here."

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#9/2 - BTS) - Continuing to investigate for Lamb, Leena went to Greenwich Village's Thamuz Books, where Omen/Blackwater's Legion of Night teammate Ariann Wright had a vision and warned her to "Watch out for Klasser..." Leena assumed that Blackwater had investigated her and was sandbagging her.

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#9/2) - Morton Klasser looked up Leena's business address in a phone book (presumably the Yellow Pages), considering  that he was going to let his fingers do some walking, "all over your skanky kisser."

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#9/2 - BTS) - Marie Klasser called Leena, informing her of Morton's release from prison. Leena asked Marie if she would be alright or if she needed protection, but she told Marie not to worry about her. 

    Charles Blackwater and Ariann and Caspar Wright then visited Leena, and Blackwater warned her that her inquiries had placed both herself and Allison Lamb in grave danger. Omen then emerged from Blackwater and entered her form.

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#9/2) - After Allison Lamb arrived at Leena's office and tried to help the disoriented Leena to her seat, the possessed Morton smashed through the door, telling Leena not to bother as she wouldn't be standing for long, anyway. However, the demon possessing Morton instead led Morton to attack Allison, Morton rebelled, wishing instead to attack Leena; when the demon mentally told him about the Master's wishes, Morton angrily shouted that he had no master.

    Arguing that he wanted to get the one he came for, Morton nonetheless punched Allison unconscious. Having emerged from Leena during this confrontation, Omen then reached into Morton and pulled the demon out of him. Screaming, Morton passed out.

    Omen slew the demon and then advised Leena the Legion of Night would have need for her in the future, after which he departed.

    Morton Klasser's fate is unrevealed. He only assaulted Allison Lamb and went through with plans to assault Leena Wolfe while possessed by the demon. Would he have ever gone through with it if he hadn't been possessed? Who knows? Maybe if they do a What If? feature on the Legion of Night...which seems PRETTY unlikely...
    Regardless, he still could have been charged, as the police may not have believed anything regarding the supernatural.

    Did Morton's experience give him a vision of darkness and lead him to be a better person...did it further his violent tendencies...or did he remember nothing of it and remain unchanged? The world may never know.

    This profile was completed on 10/29/2021 but its publication was delayed, as it was intended for the Appendix's 25th anniversary celebratory event.
