History:
(Amazing Spider-Man I#68) - Josh was a student at Empire State University and friend to Randy Robertson. Immediately after Randy had met fellow student Peter Parker, he introduced him to Josh. Josh asked Peter for his viewpoint on the campus' exhibition hall, which was being turned into a private dorm for visiting alumni following the exhibition of the Tablet of Life and Time. Josh and Randy were both joining a protest to convince ESU to turn the hall into a low-rent dorm for needy students. Peter disagreed at getting involved in the protest, telling Josh that "Anyone can paint a sign, mister! That doesn't make you right!" Josh called Peter a "chicken" and told him to leave. Another protester questioned letting Randy participate because his father worked for the Daily Bugle but Josh insisted Randy was "a soul brother." During the protest, Josh suggested stealing the Tablet from his exhibit case as a means of making the dean listen to their demands but Randy shot down the idea. The protest was interrupted by the Kingpin, who burst into the exhibit hall and, despite the efforts of Spider-Man, stole the Tablet then fled. Josh, Randy and other leaders of the protest were accused of participating in the Tablet's theft and were arrested.

(Amazing Spider-Man I#69) - Josh, Randy and the other protest leaders were questioned by the police about the Tablet's theft but insisted they had no part in it. Randy's father tried to support them in the interrogation room but Randy considered his father part of the establishment. Josh opined his father was "maybe an okay cat" but they need to "shake whitey up a little" in order to move ahead.

(Amazing Spider-Man I#70) - After the Kingpin was jailed for stealing the tablet, Josh and the other protesters were released by Captain George Stacy and had a meeting at ESU with Dean Corliss, who agreed to the students' demands to convert the exhibit hall into low-rent housing. Josh was pleased that he had won but also that he'd been wrong about both the dean and Randy's father.

(Amazing Spider-Man I#74) - Josh was on campus with Randy and other students when Peter Parker walked by, so absorbed in his thoughts that he didn't notice them.

(Amazing Spider-Man I#87) - Josh attended a birthday party for Gwen Stacy. Gwen was depressed when Peter Parker failed to appear and Josh encouraged Randy to play his guitar for Gwen to lighten the mood.

(Amazing Spider-Man I#105) - Josh and Randy organized another protest, this time leading protesters outside the Daily Bugle to complain that the newspaper didn't reflect important societal issues but was instead running stories about Ka-Zar and Spider-Man. Josh confronted J. Jonah Jameson as he arrived at the building but Jonah angrily refused to listen to Josh, declaring he had his own "civil rights" to protect and shoved Josh in the face. The other protesters were ready to storm Jonah for attacking Josh but Randy told them to stand down. Suddenly, Spider-Man swung down, grabbed Jameson and suspended him from a building ledge. The protesters decided to disperse, deciding they'd made their point.

(Amazing Spider-Man I#107) - Randy and Josh showed Gwen a Daily Bugle article about Spencer Smythe and J. Jonah Jameson placing tracking devices around the city to capture Spider-Man. Josh noticed Peter Parker had taken the accompanying photograph and wondered how Peter could work for a "nowhere cat" like Jonah.

(Amazing Spider-Man II#622/2 (fb) - BTS) - Some time after university, Josh moved out to California.

(Amazing Spider-Man II#622/2) - Josh came back to Manhattan at the behest of Peter Parker and attended a surprise birthday party for "Flash" Thompson.

(Amazing Spider-Man VI#31 - BTS) - Randy was disappointed to hear Josh wouldn't be coming to his bachelor party.
