(X-Men I#44/2 - BTS) - Judy Harmon was a teenage girl living in Fort Washington and, for a brief time, was romantically involved with Bobby Drake before he ever became known as Iceman.
(X-Men Origins: Iceman) - Judy Harmon spent time with Bobby Drake at their high school, where the two shared a quiet, flirtatious moment. Judy teased Bobby about his birthday and asked how he planned to celebrate, while also noticing his distracted demeanor. Their conversation was interrupted when local bully Rocky Beasley drove past and loudly taunted Bobby with crude remarks about Judy, questioning Bobby's ability to protect her. Though unsettled by the encounter, Judy attempted to reassure Bobby, unaware that the emotional strain was already triggering the first stirrings of his mutant powers.
(X-Men Origins: Iceman / X-Men I#44 - BTS) - To celebrate Bobby Drake's birthday, he and Judy Harmon attended a screening of West Side Story at the local community center. During the film, Bobby feigned a yawn to put his arm around Judy, who leaned into him, clearly enjoying the date. As they left the theater, Judy commented that she never tired of seeing the movie.
(X-Men I#44/2 / X-Men Origins: Iceman / Astonishing Iceman I#2) - After the date, the two were confronted by local bully Rocky Beasley and his gang, who taunted Bobby and attempted to drag Judy away. Outnumbered and desperate to protect her, Bobby instinctively used his emerging mutant powers, encasing Rocky in ice and frightening off the other boys. The sudden, dramatic display of Bobby's abilities left Judy terrified. Shocked by the transformation she witnessed and fearful of what Bobby might be capable of, she recoiled from him despite his attempts to explain that he only acted to save her. Calling him "dangerous" and a "freak,"Judy fled and refused to let him come near her, devastated by the revelation that he was a mutant. Her reaction, combined with the panic spreading among the townspeople who learned of the incident, contributed to Bobby's decision to run, ultimately setting him on the path that led him to Professor Xavier and the X-Men.

Although portrayed as kind and affectionate, Judy, like many people of her community, had a deep-seated fear and prejudice toward mutants. Her reaction to Bobby's powers was one of immediate terror and revulsion.
Judy's role has been depicted three different times: the original 1968 flashback, the 2010 retelling in X-Men Origins: Iceman, and the modern Astonishing Iceman #2 flashback. Though details vary, such as Bobby's appearance (normal vs. ice form), how the bullies behave, and the intensity of Judy's reaction, the core event is consistent: Judy is present when Bobby's powers manifest publicly for the first time and her frightened rejection becomes a defining emotional blow for him.
