Powers/Abilities: Hagen is a master swordsman that could wield any two-handed blade. He is rather small for a giant and has a weakness to heat due to his Frost Giant nature.
For a short time Hagen wielded the Sword of Frey, a magic sword that fought by itself and could cut through any defense.

History:
(Balder the Brave#2) - Hagen joined Utgard-Loki's Frost Giants in an
attack on the Nornkeep and slaughtered some of Karnilla's finest
warriors with his superior swordsmanship.
Utgard-Loki later found the legendary Sword of Frey hidden in the Nornkeep and bestowed it upon Hagen to make sure even the gods would fear him.
(Balder the Brave#2 - BTS) - He returned with Utgard-Loki's army and their prisoner Karnilla to the Great Keep.
(Balder the Brave#3) - After Balder failed to free Karnilla, Utgard-Loki put him in the arena and pitted him against Hagen. Utgard-Loki introduced Hagen as an incomparable swordsman, but then downplayed the threat he actually posed. Balder recognized Hagen's sword as the Sword of Frey and knew that it would be impossible to beat him as long as he wielded that sword. Hagen had the crowd behind him and with each swing of his sword got closer to hitting Balder and ending his life. Balder seemingly ran away from Hagen after blocking another deadly strike with his sword. Balder took the short time to recover, rip up his shirt that was impregnated with metal studs and fastened it into a ball. Balder blocked the next sword strike from the charging Hagen and then tossed his shirt in his face to startle him. Balder then grabbed Hagen's wrists with his hands. Hagen mocked Balder for his meek attempt to overpower him because he was stronger than him, but Balder actually burned his wrists with the power of the sun. Hagen dropped the Sword of Frey, but still had a second sword he could draw. He missed with his first strike and Balder countered with a punch that knocked Hagen unconscious. Balder then picked up the Sword of Frey...
(Balder the Brave#4) - ...and tossed it to his ally Agnar, who had been watching the whole fight from a window. Hagen remained unconscious on the ground of the arena after his defeat at the hands of Balder.
