History:

(Spider-Boy II#1 (fb) - BTS) - In the three years that young Bailey Briggs served as Spider-Man's sidekick, he fought the villain known only as Gutterball on several occasions. He considered the bowling-alley bandit to be one of his deadliest foes.

(Spider-Boy II#1 (fb) - BTS) - As a result of being cut and erased from the web of destiny and life, Gutterball, along with everyone else in existence, forgot about Spider-Boy.

(Spider-Man IV#11 - BTS) - When he touched a shirt on a clothesline, Spider-Boy's psychometric spider-sense gave him a vision of Gutterball attacking the shirt's owner. Joined by Spider-Man, he set out to stop the assault.

(Spider-Boy II#1 (fb) - BTS) - Gutterball attacked and took over the Lucky Lanes bowling alley in Manhattan, using his pin blasters to hold the alley's patrons hostage.

(Spider-Boy II#1) - Gutterball was surprised when Spider-Man and Spider-Boy showed up, especially because the young hero acted like he knew him. He fired a barrage of bowling pins at the hero who nimbly kept all the hostages from getting hurt. Spider-Man attempted to ambush Gutterball by hitting him in the head, unaware that Gutterball's head was an impervious indestruct-o-ball. Spider-Boy managed to get the drop on his enemy, grabbing him by the leg and smashing him headfirst through the nearest wall. Gutterball was relieved to see that the police had come to arrest him and was eager to get away from the two heroes and their terrible bowling-related puns.

(Spider-Boy II#1 - BTS) - The owner of Lucky Lanes was so grateful to Spider-Boy for his aid that she hosted a special ceremony where the young hero was presented with a lifetime free pass and a ceremonial key to the alley.

(Spider-Boy II#8 - BTS) - Gutterball was included in Puzzle Man's top ten Spider-Boy villains crossword puzzle.

Gutterball might be the lowest of Spider-Boy's trademark low-stakes villains. What good is having an indestructible bowling ball for a head when the rest of your body isn't indestructible?
