Powers/Abilities: The Gammavolk are large and
strong, perhaps lifting 5-50 tons.
They have sharp teeth and claws,
with which they can presumably rend flesh, bone, wood and likely some
types metals.
Additionally, they had large, tusk-like projections
that appeared to originate from their zygomatic arches (cheekbones) or
somewhere significantly posterior to their maxillary teeth.
They may have been superhumanly
swift, with superhuman olfactory senses and nocturnal vision and/or
superhuman healing, but they did not demonstrate such abilities in
their limited appearances.
Traits: The Gammavolk fought savagely and followed
orders from the Abomination.

History:
(Gamma Flight#3 (fb) - BTS) - Apparently with
the goal of making an insurrection ("wind up the locals, feed their
fears, provide them with a weapon"), Project Green Spring, led by the
Abomination (Emil Blonsky/Reginald Fortean) Aliana Alba, set up in Thomasville,
Texas. Via gamma grafts from the Abomination, they restored power to
the Hulk's son Skaar and they empowered Fortean's daughter, Dionne, as
Stockpile.
Additionally, they introduced Fortify, an alleged brain/body supplement actually and secretly composed of tapeworm-like gamma grafts, which slowly released the gamma power into those who consumed it. Initially the people grew stronger and healed better, but ultimately they became nearly-mindless gamma warriors under the Abomination and Alba's control; these beings were referred to as Bane Troopers. The town had a population of 40,000, and it was estimated that 10% of them may have taken the supplements.
(Gamma Flight#4 (fb) - BTS) - Larger, military
grade gamma implants were used (presumably
on humans) to create the Gammavolk.
(Gamma Flight#3 (fb) - BTS) - Disgusted by what Project Green Spring was doing to the town, Stockpile eventually fled.
(Gamma Flight#1-2 - BTS) - Stockpile joined up with
Gamma Flight.
(Gamma Flight#4 - BTS) - Gamma Flight traveled to Thomasville, and as they headed down into Project Greenspring's base, Skaar warned them that the only things down there were Bane Troopers and Gamma Wolves
(Gamma Flight#5 - BTS) - Gamma Flight
inadvertently blew up the Cathexis Ray Alba had been using, and the
gamma burst it sent out was the right frequency to cause the
Fortify/gamma tapeworms to dislodge them from their Bane Troopers
hosts, causing them to revert to normal.
Skaar allied with Gamma Flight against the Abomination
and Alba.
(Gamma Flight#5) - Backed by at least four (possibly five) of the Gammavolk, the Abomination and Alba confronted Gamma Flight. After the Abomination dropped Doc Sasquatch and engaged the Absorbing Man, and Alba engaged Charlene, Abomination sent the Gammavolk to back up Skaar. However, Skaar instead revealed his change in alliance and fought the Abomination as well. Puck, Stockpile, Titania and possibly the conjoined Ray/Rick fought and apparently took down the Gammavolk.
Having absorbed the power of the Cathexis Ray, the Absorbing separated Rick and Ray, after which Charlene -- who had defeated Alba and taken her weapon -- drove off the Abomination with Alba's gun.
The Gammavolk were not seen, and it is unclear
whether their powers were removed or whether they were just taken into
custody...or perhaps they escaped....

means "Wolf."
