History:
(Exclusive Collectors' Edition: Spider-Man (Acme & Dingo Children's Boots)) - After escaping prison, superhuman robber Absorbing Man made his way to the docks, where he caught a tramp steamer to South America. Once there, he set himself up as a king, using his absorbing powers to make the local population obey his every whim. This reality was glimpsed in the mind's eye of Earth-616's Absorbing Man (see comments) as he was evading capture from the superheroes Spider-Man and Spider-Woman.

    One might argue that the story in Exclusive Collectors' Edition: Spider-Man (Acme & Dingo Children's Boots) is not Earth-616 just because it was a giveaway from Acme Boots & Dingo Children's Boots but there's not really anything to exactly rule it out, though it might have to occur earlier than 1980. In the Absorbing Man's last appearance before this 1980 giveaway comic, he battled the Avengers in 1979's Avengers I#183-184 and the story ended with him turning into water and escaping. In his next full appearance in 1981's Incredible Hulk II#261, he is on Easter Island and it's explained that, as water following his battle with the Avengers, he drifted for quite a bit of time before finally washing up on Easter Island. He would not be imprisoned in between those two stories (as he is escaping from at the beginning of this giveaway comic) so the giveaway comic probably takes place at some point prior to 1979's Avengers I#183-184.
