First Appearance: Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe#1 (January, 2014)

History: (Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe#1 - BTS) - Earth-14112 diverged from Earth-616 when the cosmic entity In-Betweener attempted to kill Longshot, whose supernatural luck was disrupting the universal balance. Longshot, holding an unstable Cosmic Cube, told In-Betweener to get lost, accidentally rewriting reality.

(Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe#1) - In the altered reality-14112, In-Betweener was split into two opposing beings, Order and Chaos. Order became the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and kept Chaos imprisoned and contained while systematically persecuting magical beings. Longshot retained his memories of the Earth-616 timeline and was confronted by a S.H.I.E.L.D. team led by Order who prepared to execute him.

(Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe#2) - The Cosmic Cube disguised itself as "Mr. Dapples," the teddy bear of a young girl Jennifer in Putnam, Connecticut. S.H.I.E.L.D. attempted to detain Mr. Dapples, but her mother Sonja took Jennifer and ran. She drove by Longshot and attracted the attention of Order, who ordered S.H.I.E.L.D. to fire on her car. Longshot rushed to save the innocents and attacked Order. The powerful magic drew in Doctor Strange who froze time and teleported Longshot, Sonja, and Jennifer to the safety of his Sanctum. Longshot told Strange about seeing the man in a split mask before the reality was altered. Strange recognized that In-Betweener had been split in two, with the Order half infiltrating every aspect of S.H.I.E.L.D. and keeping the Chaos half imprisoned deep inside the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier. To rejoin Chaos with Order, Strange recruited the remaining free magic users: Scarlet Witch, Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze), and a magic wand-bearing Deadpool.

The team teleported to the helicarrier and engaged S.H.I.E.L.D., but during the battle Strange was hit on the head, disrupting his concentration on the protective shield and allowing Order to restrain him and the others. Longshot reached the protected vault and found the magically restrained Hulk within. Order cornered Longshot and started monologuing, while a magical bird dropped into the hands of his assistant Agent Dazzler, a file detailing Order's plan to target the mutants after dealing with magic users. Order confessed that restraining the Hulk took much of his energy, and Dazzler suggested that because the Hulk's strength was proportional to his rage, all that was needed to turn him into Bruce Banner was to stop pushing on him. Order took the advice, and the Hulk predictably broke loose and escaped, damaging the helicarrier. His power no longer diverted, Order established full control over Strange and his allies and teleported away, letting Longshot and the traitor Dazzler deal with the crashing helicarrier. Dazzler ran for the controls, while Longshot simply jumped off and through his power of luck reached the ground safely. Chaos then appeared and thanked Longshot for freeing him, noting that he was directly in the path of the falling helicarrier.

(Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe#3) - Inside the Sanctum Sanctorum, Mr. Dapples saw the scene on the TV and exerted its power to help Dazzler stop the helicarrier from crashing. Chaos further tested Longshot's luck by summoning random forces from across the Multiverse, pulling in the Lord of Vampires Wolverine from Earth-9250, cyborg Dracula from Earth-33242, an elderly and unstable Magneto from Earth-41023 and werewolf Captain America from Earth-14112's past. Capwolf attacked Longshot but was knocked out by the present-day Captain America, who sent his other self back into the past with a chronodisplacer, having already experienced these events from the other side in his past. Dracula and vampire Wolverine attempted to turn Captain America, but his armor protected him from their bites. Magneto's sneeze sent nearby cars flying, including a taxi carrying Blade, who saw and quickly took out both Dracula and Wolverine. Chaos then summoned Venom Punisher from Earth-92164 and Carnage Silver Surfer from Earth-985 as well as giant Doombots.

Doctor Strange informed his new master Order that he had Mr. Dapples inside his Sanctum Sanctorum. Just before Order and his new subjects arrived there, the Hulk pushed Spider-Man (Otto Octavius) into the Sanctum through the window. Seeing Order threatening a little girl, Spider-Man grabbed Jennifer and her mother and swung them away. Observing the ongoing battle, Spider-Man left the women on a rooftop and grabbed a bell from a falling tower, using its sound to get the Venom symbiote off the Punisher-92164. On Spider-Man's suggestion, Ghost Rider used hellfire against Carnage-985, while Spider-Man went back to Sonja and Jennifer. Order and Chaos had a standoff, and Order presented an offer to surrender, which Chaos refused by summoning the Kingpin of Earth-11978 (who possessed an Infinity Gauntlet), Phoenix-host Kraven the Hunter from Earth-81208 and gamma-empowered Avengers from Earth-73924. Earth-14112 Avengers arrived and joined the battle, while Spider-Man took Jennifer and Sonja to Sonja's friend Diane so that her scientist father, Dr. Chip Dipson, could examine the teddy bear.

(Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe#4) - Dr. Dipson saw that the teddy bear reflected as a demon in the mirrors and ran a test that revealed its nature as a corrupted Cosmic Cube split in two aspects. Dipson and Spider-Man began constructing a device to put the Cosmic Cube back together. Order commanded Deadpool to drop everything and retrieve Mr. Dapples at any cost. Longshot pursued Deadpool, who slashed his chest with a katana. Deadpool reached the Dipson residence first, but seeing a taco truck broke Order's control over him, and he abandoned the mission. Longshot arrived next, and his presence had an effect on the Cosmic Cube and Dipson's fixer machine, which suddenly started working. As reality was unraveling everywhere from the unchecked use of powers by Order and Chaos, Longshot asked Jennifer for her teddy bear. He subsequently reassembled the Cosmic Cube and used it to restore Reality-616, diverging it from the timeline of Order's S.H.I.E.L.D.

(Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe#4 - BTS) - Whole once again, In-Betweener remembered everything that happened in the altered reality and admitted to Longshot that he was wrong to seek his death, as the immature Cosmic Cube was the real source of the problem.

Comments: Created by Christopher Hastings and Jacopo Camagni.

The chaotic events in the story are the result of several forces counteracting each other in a tug of war: Longshot's supernatural luck results in him inadvertently causing problems for others, "Mr. Dapples" Cosmic Cube is using its power to hide from Order, while Chaos is causing mayhem for the pure delight of it.
