History:
(Quick-Trigger Western I#17/4) - Sam Durham was the sheriff in Trail's Edge and didn't permit men to carry guns in the town. When Bull Sands and two of his men rode into town carrying guns, Durham pointed to the sign prohibiting the carrying of firearms. Bull replied that he and his men wouldn't remove their guns for anyone. This provoked a gunfight in which Sam fired three shots, each one hitting one of the gunmen. Durham ordered the three men to leave Trail's Edge immediately. Terrified, the three men obliged him.
Once Bull Sands and his men were gone, Sam collapsed in the street, having come down with a fever. The town mayor and other onlookers brought Sam to Dr. Simms who ordered him to remain in bed for a month. When Bull Sands heard about Sam's condition he and his men rode back into town and started throwing their weight around, frightening the townsfolk by boasting of their sharpshooting.
Sam's friend Slim told him what was going on and Sam instructed him to form a posse of a dozen men. The posse confronted Bull and his men and, out-gunned, they surrendered to the posse and were jailed. Sam continued his rehabilitation in peace.

Bull Sands and his two friends were trigger-happy cowboys who came to Trail's Edge intent on causing trouble. When they refused to disarm according to the town's rules, Sam Durham shot the guns from their hands and sent them away. However, when Sam came down with a fever, Bull and his men returned, thinking they could rule over the town by throwing their weight around. However, Sam directed Slim to lead a posse of a dozen men against Bull and his men. Out-gunned, Bull and his men surrendered to the posse and were jailed.

Dr. Simms was the town physician in Trail's Edge. When Sam Durham came down with a fever, Dr. Simms tended to him and ordered him to rest for a month.

Slim was a cowboy who lived in Trail's Edge and was a friend to Sam Durham. When Sam came down with a fever and Bull Sands started bullying the town, Slim told Sam what was happening. Sam inspired Slim to stand up to Bull and form a posse of a dozen men. Out-gunned by Slim and the others, Bull and his men were disarmed and arrested.
