Powers/Abilities: Doomster was a robot programmed to act as Doctor Doom in his absence and to otherwise follow the orders of Doctor Doom.

    He was covered in metal-plated armor of uncertain durability, although a punch from the perhaps 5-10 ton-lifting Spider-Man could knock his head off and incapacitate his body.

    He could fire energy blasts from the palm of his gauntlets, or at least from his left palm, and he carried a blaster pistol that he was observed to fire from his right hand.

    He had rocket-fire or some other form of propulsion from the soles of his boots that allowed him to fly, although the speed, duration, maximum height, etc. is unrevealed.

    Doomster likely had some degree of superhuman strength, although he did not demonstrate any particular feats of strength in his limited appearances.

History:

(Spidey#4 (fb) - BTS) - Seeking to recover a painting created by a Latverian master artist from a New York art museum, Doctor Doom sent a number of Doombots to Manhattan, New York.

    While multiple Doombots caused distractions in multiple locations, a single Doombot, wearing civilian clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt, traveled to the museum, took the painting and stuck it in his backpack.

(Spidey#4) - Having come to the museum in an effort to enjoy a day off, Peter Parker saw the vacant display and confronted the art thief as Spider-Man. The Doombot aimed his hand-blaster at him and advised the "foolish child" to stand aside, adding that he was likely 15-years-old when Spider-Man tried to argue that point.

    Assuming he was confronting Doom himself, Spider-Man questioned his outfit and art theft (not part of Doom's typical modus operandi), asking, "Did you become a hipster and not tell me? Can I call you Doomster now?" Insisting that his name was Doctor Doom, the Doombot fired a blast, which Spider-Man dodged, noting, "Hipsters are the worst."

    As Spider-Man resolved to protect the art and those enjoying it, Doomster flew into the air and fired at him with his hand blaster. Dodging and delivering a few punches while explaining that he already had a doctor foe (Dr. Octopus) and didn't want to confuse things, he asked, "What gives Doomster? You're a lot of things...but art thief? Not really your jam." After Doomster explained that the painting was created by a master Latverian artist and stated that it belonged in Latveria, Spider-Man replied, "Yeah, well, so do you."

    Webbing up the gun, Spider-Man punched and kick Doomster back, after which Doomster fired a blast from his left gauntlet. Evading the blast, Spider-Man asked who used a gun when they have a hand laser but gave him props for being a lefty. Leaping forward as he told Doomster to knock it off, Spider-Man punched him in the face and was surprised when he decapitated his foe. Appreciating that it was a Doombot, Spider-Man webbed the body to the floor and appreciated that there had been simultaneous Doombot assaults across the city.

(Spidey#4 - BTS) - The Daily Bugle reported "Spider-Menace trashes museum!"

    Although Spider-Man took out the power source of the local Doombots, at least one of them (see comments) was able to complete its mission before losing power, and another Doombot in Latveria delivered the painting to Doom.

    Andre's name should have an accent over the "u" in the surname, but my html editor program turns such symbols into question marks...so I don't use them.

    Another Doomster was seemingly incapacitated when it was decapitated, and its body was webbed to the ground, the bodies of other Doombots later in the same issue continued to fight after heaving their heads knocked off. So perhaps Doomster was faking incapacitation, and it either used its palm blaster to burn of the webbing or it waited an hour until the webbing disintegrated, after which it somehow sent the painting back to Doom.

    There have been many re-imaginings of Spider-Man and other characters, and this series came out in a time in my life when I was focused on building my own business...I bought the issues but never read any of them, until I read #4 for this profile. I thoroughly enjoyed this issue, and I plan to read the whole series when I get the chance.
    Owen in #4 is a new favorite character.

    Dr. Doom of Earth-616 is 6'7" and 415 lbs. (in his armor), and his Doombots typically match that. Spidey/Peter Parker-16220 looks pretty small/slight, and I'm not sure he's even 5'10" like Peter Parker-616...maybe only 5'6"-5'8". Regardless the Doomster doombot looked a few inches taller than him, but probably not 6'7". Doomster may have specifically been smaller to be more stealthy/less noticeable. I ballparked the Doomster at around 6', which would make him 314 lbs. if he had the same density but was just smaller than Doom-616. But, we don't know that, so I left his weight unrevealed.

Earth-16220 Gaining superhuman powers from a radioactive spider bite, high schooler Peter Parker became the superhero Spider-Man after a brief career as the wrestler Masked Marvel. While dividing his time between school with classmates Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy and battling criminals such as the White Rabbit as Spider-Man, Parker was inspired to become a freelance photographer for the Daily Bugle by zookeeper Dan Slott. Spider-Man ultimately managed to defeat the Sinister Six, comprised of some of his worst enemies including Sandman, the hooded Vulture, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio and the jacketed Dr. Octopus.
