History:
(Captain America Annual I#11/2 (fb) - BTS) - Sam Wilson ordered an
upgraded Falcon suit from Desmond Burrell.
(Captain America Annual I#11/2) - Sam called Stark Enterprises and asked to speak to Burrell from the design division and got connected to him. Dez was happy to hear from the hero and told him that the suit was right on schedule and would be ready for testing next Friday, but Sam needed Dez to move up the schedule to that night. Dez was less enthusiastic about that because even though everything had been installed, he had not even begun to check the system. Sam made it clear that it was a life and death situation and that he needed the suit delivered to 125th Street Station by 7.
(Captain America Annual I#11/2 - BTS) - Dez had the new Falcon suit delivered as requested.
(Captain America Annual I#11/2) - An hour before sunset, Falcon took out the suit for its maiden flight over Harlem. He was in contact with Dez to update him on any possible problems he noticed, but everything seemed fine except for a little valve sickness in the left middle impeller that seemed to have stabilized. Dez still didn't like that Sam was testing the new suit in a combat mission, but there was no way for him to stop Sam from doing it. Dez just hoped that nothing went wrong, but Sam had faith in his work. Dez trusted his own work as well, but would have liked to at least debug the suit before it went online. Even though Dez was worried, the suit and its new features ended up working perfectly against Taskmaster and his students.
Comments: Created by Mark Gruenwald, James Brock & Charles Barnett.
He was seen in one panel in a room without people. We don't know the proportions of the machines he is standing in front of and therefore I have no clue how tall he is or how much he weighs. For all we know he could be 5' or 7'5" fresh from the basketball court.
Sam told Dez to give Lara his regards. She was presumably his wife, but we don't know for sure.
According to Falcon's Master Edition profile the flight technology in this suit was still the same, but Burrell added some costume modifications including a grappling line built into the gauntlets, detachable jet-powered glider wings, a costume visor with infrared lenses and remote imaging sensors. The cowl also included a wide band receiver and transmitter that amplified Sam's thought transfer to Redwing.
