Identity/Class: Human (see comments)
Occupation: Karate competitor and instructor

Karate Team

Atrius, Ace Zeppelin

Atrius, Bruce Lee,
"Stickman" Lewis, Ace Zeppelin, Sheldon

Base of Operations: Unrevealed;
formerly the Ace Zeppelin Karate School, Hawthorne,
southern California, USA
First Appearance: Bruce Lee#1 (July, 1994)
Powers/Abilities: A karate black belt, TJ Bryce was large, strong and swift, able to knock out opponents in professional bouts in short order.
He presumably took anabolic
steroids to increase his bulk and strength at the expense of other
bodily functions.
History:
(Bruce Lee#1 (fb) - BTS) - T.J. Bryce trained under Ace Zeppelin
in Karate-Do, and he was part of the Ace Zeppelin Karate
Team.
(Bruce Lee#1 (fb) - BTS) - At the Professional
"All"(-something, presumably -Pro) Karate Tournament, T.J. Bryce won his 5th
straight knockout.
(Bruce Lee#1) - After his most recent TKO (Technical Knock Out), Bryce was interviewed, and he credited everything to Ace Zeppelin and his system of supplemental nutrition and the power of Karate-Do.
After Ace swiftly flattened his
own opponent, TJ congratulated him and noted that it had been a good
night for their team. TJ then brought Ace to watch Bruce Lee
demonstrating his one-inch punch technique. Although two powerful men
were knocked down by Lee via this technique, Ace denounced it as phony.

The next day, as Lee was checking
out a space in which Mr. Chin was offering him to open up a school
across the street from Ace's place, Bryce kicked former student Lorenzo
Atrius through the window, reminding him that Ace had told him not to
come around any more.
When Lorenzo argued and defied him, Bryce told him to take his best shot, which Bryce dodged, punching Lorenzo in the abdomen and face before laying him out with a kick. Bryce then reminded Lorenzo that if he told anybody about Ace's program, he would end up in a canyon feeding coyotes.
After Lee officially opened up his American Academy of Jeet Kune Do, Bryce was apparently one of two others from Ace's school who followed Ace when he confronted Lee. The confrontation led to a physical altercation in which Lee delivered a kick to Ace's head, after which Ace threatened Lee before departing with his men.
After a few weeks, as Lee had more
students than he could handle, Ace told Bryce he had to do something,
like beating up Lee in front of his students. Bryce suggested that Ace
let him do it instead, as that would make the point even more
devastating. When Bryce prepared to go do this immediately, Ace told
him to wait until they did "that deal," noting that the next Monday Lee
would have a whole new crop of students.
After midnight, Bryce joined Ace in meeting with a man named Chuck, supplying him with Stanazolol, Dianabol and some cocaine, and having him pay TJ.
The next day, Bryce entered Bruce's school, knocked his friend Sheldon to the ground and told Bruce to "hit the street or be dead meat." Bruce's student Stickman confronted Bryce but was dropped with a powerful kick to the chest. Bryce then challenged Lee, asking him if he though his "Jeek Kune Don't" could stop him, and Bruce assured him that it could and challenged him to take his best shot. Lee deflected a number of strikes while delivering his own and finally delivering a kick that knocked Bryce back out through the front door. Sheldon filmed the event.
Back at
Ace's place, Ace
appreciated that Bryce was a mess and asked him what had happened.
Bryce told him that Lee was quick and that Ace ought to try him. Ace
agreed that he would, but that he would first soften up Lee with a
"gift" to welcome him to the neighborhood.
(Bruce Lee#1 (fb) - BTS) - With or without Bryce's help, Ace apparently fatally-drugged Lorenzo Atrius with a speedball (heroin and cocaine), put an American Academy of Jeet Kune Do shirt on him, and dumped him in Lee's school.
(Bruce Lee#1 - BTS) - Lee and Stickman found the corpse on the floor in Lee's school.
(Bruce Lee#2) - After Lee had told the police that Ace had likely drugged and killed Lorenzo, Bryce announced to Ace that there was a cop there to talk to him.
After having been grilled by the police, Ace was upset
to see Bryce outside by the police car.
Much later, as TJ returned home from the grocery
store, Ace was waiting in his apartment as asked him about the pill
bottles present and if he was ripping him off. When Ace asked if he was
dealing, Bryce assured him that the drugs were his and that he was
bulking up for the tournament. Ace told him that whatever the case was
it was no good, as he couldn't have him dealing behind his back and
that he k new he was too smart to use the stuff himself.
The irate TJ cursed and punched Ace who kicked and punched him down. After commenting that Lee had told the police that he had seen Bryce and Lorenzo fighting, Ace broke TJ's neck, wrapped him up in a rug, drove him out of the city, dumped him off a cliff and then planned to drop TJ's truck at LAX (Los Angeles Airport).
(Bruce Lee#2 - BTS) - At the Costa Mesa All-Pro Invitational Shoot-Fighting Championships, the detective who had previously questioned Ace asked if he knew where TJ Bryce might be. Lee told him that he did not and suggested that the detective ask Ace, which he confirmed that he intended to do.
However, the subsequent fight between Lee and Ace left
Ace comatose, unable to answer his questions.
(Bruce Lee#2 - BTS) - Police found Bryce's body and vehicle, and they were able to confirm that Ace Bryce were selling steroids.
(Bruce Lee#5 - BTS) - Presumably in Oaxaca,
stuntman Joe Dorgan showed the General footage of Bruce Lee fighting TJ
Bryce.

I know a little
about the life of Bruce Lee, but certainly not enough to know whether
the events of this story could have occurred in Reality-616. Lee died
in 1973 at the age of 32 of brain edema, the cause of which is still
disputed.
