Powers/Abilities: All Might possesses the quirk One for All, which enhances his physique to make him superhumanly strong (easily Class 100), durable, superhumanly fast both in terms of running and reaction times, and with seemingly endless endurance. Via his strength he can leap hundreds of feet at a time, and such bounding is his preferred form of rapid travel. Unlike most quirks his ability can be transferred to a chosen successor by said successor ingesting part of the holder of One for All's body (usually hair in past transfers); the holder of One for All must also will this transfer, so it is not possible for the transfer to happen accidentally or unwillingly. Additionally, the transfer can only be done once, after which the powers of the now former holder of the quirk will very slowly begin to fade. Using One for All requires the holder to already be extremely physically fit prior to ingesting the prior holder's DNA, or the power might kill them outright; even after said preparation, a new holder of One for All will shatter their own bones if they try to use even 1% of the power available to them, and it takes years of training to gradually and incrementally increase how much power they can draw on without injuring themselves. Having held the power for several decades, All Might no longer has this concern, and can access all of One for All, albeit even he can't safely access 100% power constantly. However, even accessing only 5% would place All Might among the physically strongest superhumans on the planet, and he can maintain a level several times higher than that, and go up to 100% safely for brief periods.

   A direct punch from All Might would easily kill (if not vaporize) any opponents who lack enhanced durability, so All Might utilizes a large number of special combat moves, such as the Texas Smash where he punches thin air to create immense air pressure which can safely blow bystanders out of the way of harm, the Detroit Smash where a downward punch causes shockwaves, or the United States of Smash which focuses 100% power into a single direct strike, only to be used on the most durable of foes. Because All Might developed most of these techniques while he was living in the U.S.A. for many of the early years of his superhero training each maneuver is named after an American location.

History:
(Deadpool: Samurai#9 (fb) - BTS) - All Might was Japan's number one hero, the always smiling Symbol of Peace. At one point he teamed up with the American... "hero"... Deadpool to battle the villain Toxic Chainsaw.

   At some point All Might was added to an Avengers alert device as a hero who could be called for aid in times of need.

(Deadpool: Samurai#9) - Five years passed without All Might crossing paths with Deadpool again. Eventually Deadpool visited Japan, where he and his allies found themselves battling Thanos. After Thanos easily took down the group's strongest member, the Hulk, Deadpool tried to activate an Avengers communicator he had been given, supposed to summon their strongest champion (Captain Marvel); however as he was trying to send the message Thanos hit Deadpool, causing his finger to slip and send the alert to U.A. High School instead. Alerted, All Might arrived within seconds, and sent the villain (and everyone else) flying with a Detroit Smash before they even knew he was there. While Thanos was left embedded in a nearby wall, All Might caught Deadpool in mid-air and announced to the rest of the heroes that they were safe now, as he was here. 

(Deadpool: Samurai#10) - As Deadpool joked (we hope) that All Might was there because he had Kohei Horikoshi locked in his basement, and asked if he could eat some of All Might's hair to get the Japanese hero's power, an incredulous Thanos pulled himself free and demanded to know who the new arrival was. Unimpressed, All Might jovially noted that Thanos was a tough guy (presumably because he was still conscious), and asked a fanboying Deadpool to join in a dual attack on the mad Titan. They simultaneously raced towards Thanos, who announced he was inevitable as he prepared to strike them in turn. Deadpool tripped and faceplanted, but despite Thanos' attempt to counter All Might delivered his most powerful strike, and sent Thanos flying again, embedding him even deeper in the wall he had only just extricated himself from. Deadpool's ally Sakura Spider thanked All Might, who told her not to sweat it. With Thanos vanquished, All Might leapt away. As he vanished into the sky Deadpool called after him, asking All Might for his autograph, only to discover that at some point during the brief time he had been there All Might had already somehow managed to do so.

   Moments later Thanos revealed he was still conscious, although only just, and as an act of spite broke a high tech control device to open gateways to other dimensions. Then he finally passed out, defeated by All Might.

   For anyone who reads this or read Deadpool: Samurai without being into anime / manga, All Might is the world's mightiest superhero in the immensely successful series My Hero Academia (僕ぼくのヒーローアカデミア, a.k.a. Boku no Hīrō Akademia), which began in the Japanese manga publication Weekly Shonen Jump (週刊少年ジャンプ, a.k.a. Shūkan Shōnen Janpu) in 2014. In My Hero Academia superpowers are known as Quirks; people with said Quirks began appearing many decades ago, and the numbers rapidly grew until 80% of the population have some kind of superpower, although in many cases said powers are minor and not enough to let the person be a superhero or supervillain. In most countries, including Japan, anyone who wants to become a hero has to go through rigorous training and testing, hence the Academia part of the title, as the series follows a group of new students through their years at U.A. High School, Japan's most prestigious superhero training academy. In case anyone is wondering, U.A. doesn't actually stand for anything; the Japanese kanji for the school name is 雄英, pronounced yuuei, and if you reverse those kanji you get 英雄, eiyu, which means hero. So it's a pun, and the manga and anime both use the Roman letters UA as the school logo to keep up the joke.

   How much of the manga/anime version of All Might holds true for the version seen in Deadpool: Samurai? Though we only see him briefly, a fair bit of confirmed similarity can be gleaned. First off, he's clearly got the same power set, as well as the deliberately smiling over-the-top positive attitude, something All Might affects to reassure allies and bystanders that all will be well, no matter how fraught the situation. Deadpool's comment that he'd be happy to eat some of All Might's hair shows that One for All remains transferable, and that probably means he still has a predecessor as holder for One for All, probably his late mentor Nana Shimura. He's identified as Japan's number one hero, just like in the manga. He's still attached to U.A. High School, as revealed by the communicator that Deadpool used to call for help displaying the U.A. High School logo when Thanos checked it. All Might's special moves still having American names appended to them means he probably trained in the U.S. And the mention of fighting Toxic Chainsaw with Deadpool five years prior matches a similar mention of All Might battling Toxic Chainsaw five years earlier in My Hero Academia Chapter 1.

   In the manga he's the eighth person to hold One for All, but there's no way to know if that's the case or not in Deadpool: Samurai.

   What probably isn't the same: The start of My Hero Academia establishes that All Might suffered terrible injuries battling a major foe (later revealed to be his nemesis All for One), and as a result he can no longer maintain his powered form for more than a few minutes at a time (see left for non-powered form and right for powered) thanks to undue stress it causes his damaged body. Additionally, the length of time he can maintain his powers is reducing each time he accesses them. All of this has been kept a secret from the public to prevent panic and the news emboldening villains. Since his time is now limited, All Might is seeking out a successor to pass the power on to, and in the first chapter of the story he finds that successor in the teenage Izuku Midoriya. There is no evidence that any of this is true in Deadpool: Samurai, though given how All Might doesn't hang around after beating Thanos it's possible he is suffering from the same time limit.

   For what reason was All Might on the Avengers' device for calling aid in distress? Obviously if you were in Japan and needed aid All Might would be a logical choice to call on, so I don't mean "why choose him" but rather "how did the Avengers come to have his contact details"? Deadpool was given the device, but didn't amend anything, so he didn't add the details, and besides, even if he had, All Might had to have a receiver and know there was a chance of being contacted. It's not a stretch to assume that All Might could have simply volunteered his services if required by fellow heroes such as the Avengers if they found themselves in Japan, but it may also mean that at some point All Might was an Avenger in this world, perhaps during the time when he lived in the U.S.A. Maybe he was present among the Ultravengers summoned in Ultraforce/Avengers, just off panel or hidden behind everyone else (not in the real world obviously, as he'd not been created yet when that comic came out), or was somewhere in the throng of alternate reality Avengers seen in Avengers Forever I#11 and 12.

   Though not related to this version of the character, it's possibly worth mentioning that the world of My Hero Academia has other ties to Marvel. Probably unsurprising given that he created a superhero world, author Kohei Horikoshi is clearly a fan of the genre, and threw in some cameos from other superhero universes in the very first chapter.
