History: (Not Brand Echh I#14/5 - BTS) - After Spider-Gwen, a new superhero combined with a girl named Gwen made them a bunch of money, the bosses at Marvel Comics dared to repeat this again and tasked Christopher Hastings and Gurihiru with creating for them another Gwen-named hero: Gwenpool.

(Not Brand Echh I#14/5) - The Marvel bosses then wanted to create another Gwen-named hero to make even more money but were informed by the legal department that they were forbidden from making any new Gwens, lest the name become so generic that they lose their trademark. The bosses were devastated, but Gwenpool consoled them and said that she would be happy to take the extra powers for herself, negating a need to create new Gwen characters. The bosses agreed and gave her the powers of Wolverine, making her Gwenpoolwerine and making themselves even more money. Eager for more, they then made her Gwenpoolverinethoraclops by giving Gwen the powers of Cyclops and then Gwenpoolverinethoraclops by having Odin declare Gwen worthy of Mjolnir, which she promptly used to kick the current Thor/Jane Foster out.

The bosses followed by combining Gwen with Punisher to make her into Gwenpunishoolverinethoraclops, who was swift to kick Frank Castle out of the Marvel offices as well, even as the bosses were swimming in money. Drunk on power, the bosses kept combining Gwen with other heroes until there was noone left and she alone was standing as Captaindaredevenomarvelspiderfistrangwenpunishoolverinethoraclopssquirrel. After hearing that they had no heroes left, Marvel bosses blamed Christopher Hastings and Gurihiru and fired them on the spot, despite the creators protesting that the bosses asked for this to begin with. Gwen, returned to her normal Gwenpool self, hugged her creators to comfort them, even as Christopher Hastings insisted that none of what had happened counted as canon.

Comments: Created by Christopher Hastings and Gurihiru.

The retcon of Gwenpool being a mutant did not occur until Gwenpool Strikes Back #5, released two years after Not Brand Echh I#14 in which this story takes place. The retcon itself being heavily metafictional, it is unclear if it applies to other versions of Gwen, such as this one.

Gwen's hair and eye color is not shown in this story but is presumed to match that of her counterpart living on Earth-616.

The name of Gwen's final form was too big to fit on a single comic page and is probably much longer than Captaindaredevenomarvelspiderfistrangwenpunishoolverinethoraclopssquirrel, considering that Marvel had no heroes left after that.
