functioned as a typical nightclub, though it served very atypical
clientèle in the forms of supervillains. It was equipped with a loaded
bar, a jukebox and several tables at which to sit.
History:
(Avengers VII#48 (fb) - BTS) - Red Rum's Club in Bagalia became known
as a place to go if you wanted someone killed. Disgraced, the formerly
heroic Gorilla-Man (Ken Hale) sought to have himself killed and decided
to travel to Bagalia.
(Avengers VII#48) - The Gorilla-Man visited Red Rum's
Club in Bagalia, where he drank several beers. He recounted his origin
story to the various supervillains in the bar and admitted that he
finally understood why the previous Gorilla-Man appeared joyful when he
was killed by Hale. When the bartender suggested Hale find another bar
to drink at for his own good, Gorilla-Man grabbed the throat of the
bartender and asked if he was even listening to his story, exclaiming
that the world had forgotten the legend of the Gorilla-Man. Moments
later dropping the bartender, Gorilla-Man announced to Red Rum's
patrons that he had heard the Club was a place to go if one wanted
someone killed. Ready to die and having explained that anyone who
killed him would be granted immortality, Gorilla-Man asked all of the
villains in the Club if they wanted to be immortal but before any of
the villains could respond, the mind-controlled Winter Hulk burst into
the bar and grabbed the Gorilla-Man. The villains inside claimed the
Gorilla-Man belonged to them and the Gorilla-Man begged the Winter Hulk
to leave him to the villains but the Winter Hulk instead breathed
radioactive Gamma fire, destroying the bar and absconding with the
Gorilla-Man.
