Powers/Abilities: Makeshift possesses no known superhuman abilities. A genius level mechanical engineer, she has designed lightweight, multipurpose combat gear filled with techno-constructs that she can assemble into a virtual arsenal of weapons: from handguns and sniper rifles to energy blasters, taser devices and time bombs. She can also erect metal shielding strong enough to deflect bullets. Makeshift is a skilled acrobat and combat strategist, though she has considerably more patience with machinery than living beings. Her left eye has been replaced with an ocular implant. Whenever Makeshift dies, a clone is activated that has access her most recent memories (see comments).

History:
(Deadpool Corps: Rank and Foul I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Young tech-wizard Amie
Zamborano was recruited by the mutant cyberpath Garabed Bashur to join
his team of mercenaries. Together with the blade artist Rive they formed
the Executive Elite.
(Cable & Deadpool I#23 (fb) - BTS) - Garabed Bashur decided to set
up cloning facilities where he grew dozens of copies of himself,
Makeshift and Rive, all grown to adulthood and ready to be activated
whenever he needed them. Should any of the die during a mission, a clone
could be ready to replace them in minutes.
(Deadpool: Circle Chase I#3
(fb) - BTS) - During one of their missions to Australia, Makeshift and
the Executive Order successfully eliminated a "huge red guy" by
electrocuting him before Hydra could get their hands on him.
(Deadpool: Circle Chase I#3 - BTS) - The Executive Elite was hired by
The Courier to eliminate Deadpool, Cable and the mutant shapeshifter
Copycat. As payment, they were offered cash and access to information on
the cache of advanced weaponry mentioned in the mysterious will of arms
dealer Tolliver.
(Deadpool: Circle Chase I#3) - Deadpool was ambushed by the Executive
Elite in Sarajevo where they fought in the streets. Disgusted by the
merc with a mouth's chauvinistic ramblings, Rive and Makeshift went
all-out to take him down. After Rive backed him into a corner with a
barrage of spikes, Makeshift fired a harpoon-like taser-dart into his
neck that she quickly electrified by hooking it up to the Edsel, their
their tactical command base. The charge was sufficiently strong to knock
out Deadpool. They then waited impatiently for Bashur to arrive and help
move Deadpool to the Edsel.
Deadpool: Circle Chase I#3 - BTS) -
Makeshift and Rive assisted Bashur in Deadpool's interrogation. They
hooked him up to a synaptic neural scanner that allowed them to review
his memories.
(Deadpool: Circle Chase I#3) - Rive, Makeshift and Bashur were
fascinated by Deadpool's memories, though they wondered how he ever
beat cancer. When Rive removed his mask, they were all horrified by
his ravaged face, which revealed the disease was still ravaging his
form. The shock left them ill-prepared for the arrival of Deadpool's
ally Weasel who had come to mount a one-man rescue mission. He entered
the Edsel with guns blazing, which caused an overload and an explosion
that freed Deadpool who immediately attacked his assailants. While
Weasel seemingly killed Bashur, Makeshift watched Deadpool stab Rive
to death with her own blade. Deadpool then threw Rive's dying body at
her, which interrupted her attempts to prepare an explosive timebomb.
Deadpool then used the lethal explosive device against her. Deadpool
and Weasel left the Executive Elite for dead.
(Deadpool II#33) - The spirit of Makeshift
was briefly summoned by T-Ray when he wanted to confront Deadpool with
all the people he had killed over the years.
(Cable & Deadpool I#22 (fb) - BTS) - Bashur, now know as Black Box,
reactivated clones of Makeshift and Rive and made them his personal
protectors. They moved into his sizable base in New Delhi.
(Cable & Deadpool I#22) - When Black Box learned Cable and Deadpool
were headed to him to claim the Dominus Objective, he alerted Makeshift
and Rive who were eager for a rematch with the merc with the mouth. They
didn't have long to wait: the two mercenaries were already there and
attacked. While Cable went after Black Box, Rive and Makeshift focused
on Deadpool who only had vague memories of ever killing them in the
first place. He quickly grew bored and killed them again.
(Cable & Deadpool I#22 - BTS) - Seconds after their cloned bodies
died, Rive and Makeshift were reborn into newly activated clones.
(Cable & Deadpool I#22) - Deadpool was surprised when he had to
fight the women again "only five minutes after killing them". He wasted
little time wasting them again, their bleeding bodies dropping next to
their other clones.
(Cable & Deadpool I#22 - BTS) - Cable and Deadpool confronted and
killed Black Box. In reality Bashur re-emerged in a new clone body and
called up dozens of copies of Rive and Makeshift, all ready for battle.
(Cable & Deadpool I#23) - Cable told Deadpool to handle the small
army of Rives and Makeshifts while he chased Garabed Bashur. Deadpool
reveled in the slaughter, telling himself this guilt-free carnage felt
like a video game. But one of the Makeshifts told him they were all
alive: "we think and feel". Deadpool continued to kill dozens of copies
until the battle was joined by Cat and the B.A.D. Girls who had been
hired by Cable to come help out.
(Cable & Deadpool I#23 - BTS) - While the B.A.D. Girls helped out
Deadpool, the Cat tracked down the cloning facilities where he spotted
dozens of copies of Rive and Makeshift ready to be activated. Destroying
the controls caused the clone vats to be destroyed.
(Cable & Deadpool I#23) - The slaughter of Rives and Makeshifts
stopped when there were only eight pairs of them left and Cat returned
to confirm there would be no more replacements. As a result, the two
mercenaries laid down their arms. Much to everyone's surprise, Cable
then walked in with Black Box who announced there was no more need for
hostilities: he and the Executive Elite were now working for Cable.
Comments: Created by Fabian Nicieza, Joe Madureira, Harry Candelario.
Makeshift was cloned so often, it's hard to know Deadpool
even killed the real one back in Sarajevo. It's also remarkable that all
her clones seem instantly aware of the last thing that happened before
their predecessor(s) died. There also doesn't seem to be any cellular
degradation which usually happens when you keep cloning the same person
over and over. It's possible her technological wizardry helped perfect
her own clones.
Cable & Deadpool wrapped up long before Fabian Nicieza ever
got around to answering the question what eight clones of Makeshift (and
Rive) were supposed to be doing. Presumably, they're still around trying
to figure out which one of them is the genuine article.
Makeshift, as part of the Executive Elite, was profiled in Deadpool
Corps: Rank and Foul I#1. Her full name was first given in that
profile.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Makeshift should not be confused with
Black Box used genetic material from the original Amie Zamborano to create dozens of clones. Kept in special vats, these copies were programmed with all the memories and skills of Makeshift. They were stored in Black Box's New Delhi base. He activated a copy of Makeshift and their Executive Elite teammate Rive to serve as his personal protectors. When Cable, Deadpool, Cat and the B.A.D. Girls attacked Black Box in his home to retrieve the Dominus Protocols dozens of clones were sent against them. In the end, Cat destroyed the remaining clones in their vats, leaving only eight activated copies of Rive and Makeshift who all swore allegiance to Cable when Black Box announced they had joined forces.
