History:

(Heathcliff's Funhouse#10/2 (fb) - BTS) - Domestic black cat Lucky was left/escaped outside one day dated Friday 13th.

(Heathcliff's Funhouse#10/2) - Superstitious child Iggy Nutmeg and his smart pet ginger cat Heathcliff were panicked about the diabolical implications of the date and sought to avoid anything considered unlucky. Dashing outside to grab the mail, they saw Lucky had appeared on the front doormat. Scared that black cats were considered unlucky, the duo ran off, but the friendly black cat followed. Iggy and Heathcliff spilled a salt delivery, ran under a ladder and smashed mirrors, all considered unlucky actions, in clumsy efforts to avoid the black cat. But accidentally breaking the mirrors in the furniture shop landed the pair in trouble with the manager and they were isolated in a room, soon joined by the clingy black cat, with the police to be called; however, robbers had intercepted the manager and tied him up while stealing money from the safe. Spying this and realizing their luck couldn't get any worse, the pair dropped the black cat near the robbers. Likewise superstitious, the thieves fled scared, ran into a cupboard and were quickly bound up with a firehose to await the police. The shop manager promised Iggy a reward and the boy replied that superstition like that was just silly nonsense and then saw the black cat's name tag on its collar: Lucky. Now friends, Iggy, Heathcliff and Lucky walked down the footpath together.

It's possible that Lucky, like many cats, was attracted to people who are allergic to cats.

Heathcliff the cat looks substantially different to Lucky! I wouldn't be surprised if Heathcliff was a giant but intelligent, always-hungry mutant feline.
