Powers: The Un-Being is apparently able to alter reality retroactively. It has a hatred for all beings of power and uses its abilities to undo their origins, preventing them from having ever existed. There are apparently limits to the range and speed at which it can do this. Origin was able to prevent it from wiping all super-beings on Earth out of existence by constantly creating new ones. When encountered in Oshkosh, it had a range of influence of only about five hundred miles. This it claimed was the reason there were so few super-beings in the mid-west.

The Un-Being, as an abstract entity, apparently cannot actually die. However, it must take host forms to interact with the material world. It is subject to all the weaknesses inherent in those forms. It could be weakened by destroying its host form, especially at the moment of transition from one form to the next. This weakening could potentially banish it for an undisclosed length of time.

History: The Un-Being is apparently a cosmic/abstract being, who may be as old as the universe itself, or as old as intelligent life in this universe. For as long as intelligent life has existed, it has been at war with another cosmic/abstract entity known as Origin.

For the last five thousand years, the Un-Being and Origin conducted their war on Earth. Origin would continually create new super-beings, while the Un-Being would attempt to erase them all from reality. It spent its last six hundred years in the American Mid-West, most recently in the form of the young boy Billy Betelheim, a neighbor to Phyllis Vaughn, mother of Quasar. Origin's host form was growing old, and both entities knew that it would die soon.

Maelstrom, a hybrid Deviant/Inhuman with the goal of the destruction of the entire universe, sought to obtain cosmic awareness by slaying the cosmic entity known as Eon. In order to do this, Maelstrom would have to get past Eon's defender, Quasar. Eon's limited precognitive powers made it aware that some being, coming from outer space, sought to slay it. In order to make himself aware of the location of all extra-terrestrial life, Quasar used his Quantum Bands to form a web over the entire atmosphere of Earth that would inform him of any arrivals on Earth.

Maelstrom sought the aid of the Un-Being, convincing him to uncreate the hero Quasar. The Un-Being led Quasar to Oshkosh, following up on a request for assistance from a super-hero known as Augmento. The Un-Being uncreated Augmento, and did the same thing to Quasar upon his arrival to Oshkosh. This effectively eliminated Quasar's web, and allowed Maelstrom to return to Earth unmolested.

The Un-Being then duped Wendell Vaughn into believing that it was actually Origin, and that Origin was the Un-Being. It sought to trick him into slaying Origin at its weakest moment and banishing it from Earth, but Quasar saw through the deception and destroyed the form of the Un-Being instead.

Comments: Created by Mark Gruenwald and Greg Capullo.

While it has been driven from Earth, the Un-Being cannot truly die. It has formed a new host somewhere else in the universe, and is probably busy uncreating a bunch of super-beings somewhere else.
