History: (Hercules and the Heart of Chaos#1 (fb) - BTS) - Tharamus was a minor Greek god who chose to remain in the background, and dedicated himself to preserving his people's culture. He eventually came to run the Museum of Greek Antiquity in New York in modern times, and placed many of his people's artifacts on display.

(Hercules and the Heart of Chaos#1) - Tharamus met with Hercules to help consul him after Hercules had learned that Ares and his Warhawks were active again. Hercules wondered how Tharamus' patrons would react if they knew that a genuine Greek god was running the museum, and Tharamus replied, "They'd probably badger me with questions about Zeus' peccadilloes." Tharamus turned Hercules over to S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Karen Lynn Palamas, to help convince him to aid S.H.I.E.L.D. against Ares.

When Ares raided the museum, Tharamus took up a sword to defend his artifacts. Ares offered to let him run and live, but Tharamus refused, and in the course of their battle, Ares stabbed Tharamus through the heart. When Hercules found Tharamus, Tharamus told him that Ares had stolen the Heart of Athena, then died. Tharamus' death convinced Hercules to aid S.H.I.E.L.D. against Ares.

Tharamus' duties at the museum were later assumed by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent John Farret in Hercules and the Heart of Chaos#3.
