Uatu the Watcher Fantastic Four I #13 (1963) Member of a cosmic-powered race that observes and records all that happens in the universe, lives in the Blue Area of the Moon, most often interacts with the Fantastic Four, once influenced Spider-Man in saving the life of Arthur Chekov's granddaughter at Christmastime, later claimed Sphere of Ultimate Knowledge which Spider-Man retrieved for the Authority.

 

Uber-Machine Peter Parker:  Spider-Man #50 (2003) Armored warrior, worked with the Rhino as Polish mob muscle in response to a power play by Hammerhead, defeated by Spider-Man.

 

ULTIMATUM (Underground Liberated Totally Integrated Mobile Army to Unite Mankind) Captain America I #321 (1986) High-tech terrorists seeking world unification, organized by Flag-Smasher, secretly funded by the Red Skull (Schmidt), enemies of Captain America and others; renegade members fought Spider-Man and Sandman.

 

Ultraforce (Ghoul, Prime, Prototype (Jimmy Ruiz), Topaz, Black Knight (Whitman), Lament, Wreckage, Contrary, Hardcase, Pixx, Siren, Prototype (Bob Campbell), Maxis, Amber Hunt, Hellblade, Ironclad, Ripfire) UltraForce #0A (1994) Premiere team of the parallel Earth called the Ultraverse; joined by the Avenger Black Knight from "mainstream" Earth, once traveled there to help Spider-Man and Green Goblin (Urich) against the Shifters.

 

Ultron Avengers I #54 (1968) Indestructible robot built by Henry Pym (Yellowjacket). Returns after every defeat, redesigned and tougher than ever. Primarily an Avengers foe; fought Spider-Man and others while seeking experimental vibranium.

 

Unholy Three (Ape-Man, Bird-Man, Cat-Man) Daredevil I #10 (1965) Costumed criminals fought by Spider-Man and Daredevil in the course of a kidnapping effort; along with Frog-Man (Francois LeBlanc), worked as the Ani-Men for the Organizer, Count Nefaria, and Madame Masque; died in bomb set by Spymaster.

 

Uno Amazing Spider-Man I #419 (1997) Super-strong agent of the Black Tarantula, battled Delilah; killed by her in later fight, prompting the Black Tarantula to confront Delilah and defeat her.

 

Underground Venom:  Lethal Protector #1 (1993) Subterranean community beneath Los Angeles, protected from the Life Foundation by Spider-Man and Venom.

 

Undertaker (Conrad Eisenstadt) Amazing Fantasy #16 (1995) Scam artist, disposed of corpses for the mob, activities exposed by Spider-Man.

 

Undertow (Protocol, General Admission, General Obsidian, Soldiers of Misfortune, Lt. Exeter, Chang, others) New Warriors I #53 (1994) Subversive group with remote-controlled super-operatives, led by the monstrous Protocol, operate out of underwater base, enslaved Kymaera (a.k.a. Namorita); forces fought by the Scarlet Spider and the New Warriors.

 

Union Jack (Joseph "Joey" Chapman) Captain America I #253 (1981) Took mantle of earlier wartime heroes to fight Baron Blood alongside Captain America, strength greatly magnified as member of the Knights of Pendragon, fought Malekyth with Spider-Man.

 

Universal Liberation Army Amazing Spider-Man I #243 (1983) Paramilitary terrorist group, took a church full of people hostage, defeated by Spider-Man.

 

Urich, Ben Daredevil I #153 (1978) Veteran reporter for Daily Bugle, frequent ally of Daredevil, often worked with Peter Parker, wrote book about the Green Goblin (Norman Osborn).

 

Urich, Phil see Green Goblin (Urich).

 

USAgent (John F. Walker) Captain America I #323 (1986) Super-strong government agent; served as replacement Captain America, in which identity he fought Spider-Man on behalf of a renegade government faction; became an Avenger under current identity, subsequently led the Jury, presently commands government unit STARS.
