Igor Fantastic Four I #13 (1963) Shape-changing baboon, one of the Red Ghost's Super-Apes.

 

Igor and Georgi Amazing Spider-Man I #43 (1966) Russian scientists who mutated the Rhino.

 

Iguana Spectacular Spider-Man II #32 (1979) Reptile mutated into humanoid form with the persona and memories of the Lizard, super-strong and hypnotic, defeated by Spider-Man and the Lizard, reverted to normal reptile.

 

Imp (Pandora Destine) Marvel Comics Presents #158 (1994) Young member of the super-powered family Clan Destine, able to use light to create laser beams and semi-solid force, sister of the Crimson Crusader, encountered Spider-Man, who helped them rescue their cousins Cuckoo and Argent from the Skyline Killer.

 

Impakov Twins Nightwatch #1 (1994) Dwarf brother and sister, members of Warforce.

Impossible Man Fantastic Four I #11 (1963) Adventure-seeking Poppupian, able to take on any form imaginable, occasional ally of the Fantastic Four, constantly seeks fun and understanding with or without his large family, has encountered (and annoyed) many super-heroes, including Spider-Man.

 

Impulse (Dwight Hubbard) New Warriors I #4 (1990) Member of Psionex, possesses superhuman reflexes and endurance, wears wrist-blades.

 

Incandescent Man Marvel Team-Up I #149 (1985) Transformed by Project:  Pegasus, able to absorb and manipulate electricity, rampaged through NYC until stopped by Spider-Man and Cannonball.

 

Inferno Uncanny X-Men #240 (1989) Invasion of NYC by extradimensional demons, led by N'astirh, caused many objects to animate and attack humans; Spider-Man fought a number of such objects, while demons invaded the Daily Bugle and N'astirh bonded the Hobgoblin (Macendale) with Demogoblin.

 

Inferno (Samantha McGee) Iron Man III #21 (1999) Pilot, gained powers of flight and heat projection from the Blinding Brazier of Balthakk, one of the Exemplars.

 

Infinata Spider-Man (1967): "Revolt in the Fifth Dimension" Extradimensional tyrant, sought information source protected by Spider-Man, used illusions in effort to break his spirit. (TV) 

 

Infinity Gauntlet Thanos Quest #2 (1990) Glove holding the collective power of six Infinity Gems, wielded by Thanos against Earth's heroes, responsible for temporary disappearance of half the world's population.

 

Infinity Watch (Drax, Gamora, Moondragon, Pip the Troll, Adam Warlock, Thanos, Maxam) Warlock and the Infinity Watch #1 (1992) Group formed to guard the powerful Infinity Gems, fought alongside and against Spider-Man and most of Earth's heroes in such cosmic plots as the Infinity War and the Infinity Crusade, disbanded when the Gems were lost into the Ultraverse.

 

Inhumans (Black Bolt, Medusa, Crystal, Gorgon, Karnak, Triton, Lockjaw, many others) Fantastic Four I #45 (1965) Hidden race diverged from humanity millennia ago by experiments of the Kree; the Royal Family has frequently encountered the Fantastic Four and other heroes, and some of its members aided Spider-Man during a conflict between Zarrko and a Kang robot.

 

Insectivorids Webspinners #5 (1999) Mindless insect-like humanoids in the service of Annihilus, sent against the Psycho-Man, fought by Spider-Man and the Silver Surfer, presumably unrelated to the Microverse race of the same name.

 

Invisible Girl see Invisible Woman.

 

Invisible Woman (Susan Storm Richards) Fantastic Four I #1 (1961) Founding member of the Fantastic Four, formerly known as the Invisible Girl, able to turn herself or others invisible and create force fields of various shapes, was helped to retrieve her kidnapped son by Spider-Man, has also worked with him with the rest of the Fantastic Four.

 

Ionello, Jason Untold Tales of Spider-Man #1 (1995) Midtown High classmate of Peter Parker, helped Sally Avril in her activities as Bluebird, served as driver in her attempts to photograph Spider-Man, accidentally responsible for crash which killed Sally, used Spider-Man costume in grief-stricken attempt to ruin the hero's reputation.

 

Iron Fist (Daniel Thomas Rand-K'ai) Marvel Premiere #15 (1974) Martial artist raised in the mystical city of K’un Lun, gained ability to channel energy into his fist for superhuman force, former partner of Cage in Heroes for Hire; has worked with Spider-Man against the Steel Serpent and others.

 

Iron Man (Anthony "Tony" Stark) Tales of Suspense I #39 (1963) Industrialist and armored hero, founding member of the Avengers, recently revealed his secret identity to the world; has teamed with Spider-Man against Zarkko, Magma, and others.

Iron Man (James "Rhodey" Rhodes) see Rhodes, James.

 

Iron Man 2020 (Arno Stark) Machine Man II #2 (1984) Descendant of Tony Stark in an alternate timeline, uses advanced armor, traveled to mainstream present to obtain genetic data on young Robert Saunders to stop a bomb set by the future Saunders, prepared to kill, killed the Blizzard, battled Spider-Man, unknowingly set Saunders on the path to destruction.

 

Ironwood, Dr. Daniel Marvel Team-Up Annual #2 (1979) ESU astronomer, father of Cissy, abducted by General Kutzov to build an anti-matter bomb, killed by Colonel Vazhin to prevent information from being forced from him by others.

 

Ironwood, Priscilla "Cissy" Marvel Team-Up I #80 (1979) Briefly dated Peter Parker, kidnapped by Colonel Vazhin and saw her father die despite Spider-Man's efforts, moved out west.

 

Isbisa (Simon Meke) All-Winners Comics I #19 (1946) Sought to control the world via atomic weaponry in the 1940s, defeated by the All-Winners Squad, later semi-reformed, taught students about time manipulation in modern times; pulled Spider-Man, Venom, the Hobgoblin (Macendale), and others from earlier years.


ITT (Inorganic Technotroids) Fantastic Four I #349 (1991) Powerful synthetic entities controlled by the Skrull empress. One was sent to earth where it imprinted on the Mole Man's monsters; De’lila sought to obtain it via the "new Fantastic Four," including Spider-Man.

 

Ivan Frankenstein Monster #10 (1974) Super-strong Russian hunchback, servant of Vincent Frankenstein over a century ago; returned as servant of Doctor Kraft, fought Spider-Man and the Frankenstein's Monster, who apparently killed him.
