History: (Tales to Astonish I#53) - Mingo was the leader of an alien race who inhabited their planet with several other races. However, Mingo’s race wished to rule over them all. Mingo believed that his men were far superior to the other races because they had greater intelligence and no superstitious beliefs. For example, he played on the Deltonians worship of animals by dressing his men as animals. He quickly conquered the world, but wanted to stop any rebellions. He built a huge stone statue called the Colossus, which he then told the Deltonians would come to life if any one rebelled. However, eventually a group of peasants led by Vikor attacked Mingo’s forces. The statue then came to life, but sided with the peasants rather than defeating them. It destroyed Mingo’s palace, and scattered his troops. The peasants took over the world, while Mingo was rumoured to have been left wandering the countryside babbling incoherently about the Colossus.

Comments: Created by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber.

Mingo may not be a real person, as he only appeared in a story by the Wasp. Mind you, it’d be a good story if Giant Man met the Colossus… mmm…
There is definitely a precedent for the characters from the Wasp's tales in the MU. One of the Wobbows, from Tales to Astonish I#51/2, showed up in Maximum Security: Dangerous Planet--Snood.

Could the Deltonians' Wolf God be the same Wolf God that powers the future alien Red Wolf?

CLARIFICATIONS:

The Colossus is to be distinguished from:

Vikor has no known connection to:

The Asikii

They were an alien race who believed that if they died at night, their gods wouldn’t be able to find their souls and take them to heaven, which means they’d be stuck in limbo. They were the first race Mingo conquered.

--Tales to Astonish I#53/2

The Deltonians

They were an alien race that worshipped animals. They were the race that rebelled against Mingo. Vikor was a Deltonian.

--Tales to Astonish I#53/2

Vikor

He was a Deltonian who realised that Mingo was playing them all for fools. Judging by the way he was congratulated at the end of the story, he was probably made ruler of the Deltonians, if not the world.

--Tales to Astonish I#53/2

The Colossus

It was a huge stone statue built by Mingo’s men. While Mingo intended for him to just be a story to scare the peasants, he was in fact a defender of the fair and just. It returned to its ‘sleep’ after Mingo’s defeat.
