Powers/Abilities: Madame Cat possesses no superhuman powers, although she is an extremely skilled combatant and proficient in the use of her whip and pistol.  Selina is also a skilled strategist (a skill learned from her diabolical father, no doubt).

History: The daughter of Lex Luthor (the nefarious Green Skull) and Lois Lane (an inquisitive World War II reporter), young Selina Luthor watched her mother being murdered by her father's men (as a result of Lois trying to get her children away from her evil husband's influence).  Vowing vengeance on the maniacal old man, Selina rose through the ranks of his terrorist group Hydra with one goal in mind -- to destroy and replace the Green Skull as Supreme Hydra. Madame Cat once had a secret tryst with Tony Stark, a member of the top-secret espionage agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D..  But Madame Cat's allegiance to Hydra and Tony Stark's devotion to S.H.I.E.L.D. eventually drove the two star-crossed lovers apart.

(Strange Tales of War#110) - Madame Cat made her first appearance.

(Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.#1) - "Mission: Destroy Hydra!" - As the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier hovered above and bombarded the Green Skull's Hydra Base Omega, the Green Skull skulked over how S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Bruce Wayne had finally located his secret base.  Madame Cat, the Green Skull's own daughter, took this opportunity to catch her father off guard and stage a coup.  Madame Cat was angry at her father for his multitude of failed criminal schemes, alleging that it was the "buffoons" who the Green Skull sent to eliminate Wayne who had led S.H.I.E.L.D. to Hydra Base Omega.  With three prominent Hydra members (Baron Zero, Deathlok, and Nuke) backing her bid for power, Madame Cat tied her whip around the Green Skull's neck and snapped it, seemingly killing the former leader of Hydra in the process.  With Green Skull out of the picture, Madame Cat named herself as the new Supreme Hydra and vowed to usher the quasi-criminal organization into a new era of greatness -- starting with the death of Colonel Bruce Wayne.

Madame Cat immediately began looking for ways to defend against S.H.I.E.L.D.'s bombardment of Hydra Base Omega.  Although the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier's defenses were impenetrable, Madame Cat ordered all Hydra pilots to gladly sacrifice their lives for the cause.  As Hydra soldiers engaged the advancing S.H.I.E.L.D. forces outside, Madame Cat was informed that the Green Skull had activated the Planetsmasher Program which operated the Terra Cannon before he died.  The Terra Cannon, a doomsday gun aimed down a shaft drilled miles into the Earth, was constructed to fire a nuclear charge into a fault in the continental shelf, which would drop the entire East Coast of the United States into the Atlantic Ocean.  Madame Cat ran down to the Control Level of Hydra Base Omega that housed the Terra Cannon and tried desperately to deactivate the Planetsmasher program.  But her efforts were futile, as the firing sequence could not be stopped once it had been initiated.

At that moment, Bruce Wayne, Black Bat, Moonwing, and a small army of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents penetrated Hydra Base Omega's Control Level.  Using Madame Cat's own whip against her, Bruce Wayne sent her crashing into a computer monitor and demanded that she show him how to shut the Terra Cannon down.  Madame Cat admitted that she did not know how to deactivate the program and laughed because the Green Skull had finally defeated Bruce Wayne and he wasn't even alive to see it.

But the Green Skull was alive.  His death by the hands of Madame Cat was merely an elaborate ruse and he watched from afar as Hydra Base Omega detonated with all of his enemies inside.
