History: (Thor I#447, 447/2)- Kai-Ra joined Glump and Uroc in assaulting a band of Asgardian warriors led by Hogun and Volstagg. Kai-Ra used his staff to transform Hogun's mace into a monster, and turned another Asgardian into a tree. The trio managed to defeat all of the Asgardians and took them captive.

(Thor I#450)- Kai-Ra and Glump led an army of Rock Trolls to attack Asgard, but were opposed by Fandral on the Rainbow Bridge. Kai-Ra boasted to Fandral about how he had defeated Hogun and Volstagg, and Fandral responded by destroying Kai-Ra's staff. Fandral was soon joined by Code: Blue and Thor, who easily defeated Kai-Ra's allies. Fandral then interrogated Kai-Ra, and learned that his friends were being held by Ulik and Uroc at the Well of Eternal Tears.

Comments: Created by Ron Frenz, Tom DeFalco and Al Milgrom.

Kai-Ra may have been one of the Rime Giants who appeared in Journey Into Mystery I#102/2 as one of the enemies of Asgard.

Kai-Ra supposedly died during the Ragnarok in Thor II#85.
