History: (Rom#39 (fb))- Centuries ago, a Dire Wraith scout landed on Earth in Egypt, where it was found by the pharoah and his men. The Wraith at first assumed the form of their gods Anubis and Horus before settling upon the form of a young girl. The pharoah took the "child" to his court and made her his daughter Kaaris'a, believing she had been sent to him by the gods. A year later, the pharoah was slain by children controlled by Kaaris'a, but the people of Egypt rose up against her and bound her in mummy wrappings then buried her in the desert. She managed to stay alive thanks to Wraith sorcery.

(Rom#39)- In recent times, the mummy case containing Kaaris'a was found in Egypt and brought to the British Museum in London for an exhibit. The Dire Wraiths invaded the museum to weave their magicks and awaken her, but were opposed by the Spaceknight Rom, Shang-Chi, and Shang's friends Clive Reston, Black Jack Tarr, Sir Denis Nayland Smith and Leiko Wu. Stalled by the Wraiths, who brought mummies and statues on display to life to delay them, Kaaris'a was awakened by the children the Wraiths had enthralled to serve them. Rom fired his neutralizer at Kaaris'a, but she was immune to its effects. Nayland Smith believed that the only way to stop Kaaris'a now was to slay the children who served her, but Rom prevented him from harming them. Thinking fast, Shang-Chi took up a handful of throwing stars and used them to slice off Kaaris'a's head. Kaaris'a then crumbled into dust.
