Powers/Abilities: Guy temporarily possessed a yellow-skinned superhuman form, in which he possessed superhuman strength equivalent to the Rhino's (Class 90), as well as superhuman endurance and durability. These powers apparently dissipated after Guy was struck unconscious.

History: (Spider-Man Unlimited#4/3) - Guy Jones was an orphan who lived at an orphanage ever since he was a baby. Never adopted, the orphanage eventually hired him on as a janitor, but over time, the dilapidated orphanage became in danger of being shut down.

But one day, the Rhino, transporting a stolen canister of experimental medical gas, came crashing through the orphanage's walls, pursued by Spider-Man. As he smashed through the wall, the canister was struck open, and the gas poured over Guy, transforming him into an immense, superhuman figure.

At that moment, Spider-Man arrived on the scene, and the two got into a fight. Guy was constantly annoyed that Spider-Man knew his name was "guy," and beat him. He then set after the Rhino, and battled with him, destroying even more of the orphanage in the process. Finally, the two of them struck each other unconscious simultaneously, ending the fight.

When Guy returned to consciousness, he was an ordinary human again, and the orphanage planned to sue the Rhino to get the money they needed to repair and rebuild.

Comments: Created by Carl Potts and Dan Norton.

The story was entitled "Just a Joe Named Guy", an obvious play on the classic Spider-Man story "Just a Guy Named Joe" (Amazing Spider-Man I#38--see that character's profile HERE). This story is much less inspired, however.
